Despite being a New South Welshman I've never been a huge Rugby League fan
My sporting ancestry is firmly Australian Football...mostly down in the Riverina.
But I'm really enjoying watching this bloke doing well in the NFL pre-season.
Hope he makes the cut.

Wonder how he'd go at AFL?

Tom Bell goal of the round?
Posted by: Lazylounger - 09-01-2015, 01:59 AM - Forum: Robert Heatley Stand - Replies (1)

Hi guys, long time no type.

I never, in my wildest dreams, thought I'd see Tom Bell (Mr Kick-and-hope) kick a goal of the week contender. Don't get me wrong, I love his heart and endeavour, and I know we're not much hope this season anymore, but maybe someone's been pulling him aside and told him to actually look up before he kicks?

This slipped by quietly. Most successful person in one of our biggest sporting events.

I'll remember his famous reply to the question "How much will it cost to train my horse?"
"$250 per day, $500 if you want to talk to me about it"

Saturday, 5 September
16:40@MCG (away)

Last game of the year. Hawks have nothing to gain as their percentage is far superior to Sydney.

If Brisbane beat the bulldogs we're last anyway.

So nothing game but hawks would like to get a good run into finals

Jim Park Voting: Round 22: Carlton vs. GWS
Posted by: crashlander - 08-29-2015, 09:19 AM - Forum: Robert Heatley Stand - Replies (10)

This week's debacle feels nothing like last week's surprise. We were decent in the 1st half, but very ordinary after half time.

Nichevo. The first half, at least, deserves attention and some players even deserve votes.

Remember:
[1] At least 3 players need to get a mention.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player.
[3] Give a rating of team performance. It can be anywhere from A+ to F.
[4] Votes must add up to 15.

My apologies for being slow in getting last week's votes up. It was a busy week and my head was pretty screwed up (not to mention my foot Smile ). I will get the votes up shortly. My wife can't complain about the time I spend on the computer at the moment: it is about the only thing I can do.  ;D ;D ;D

I'll put in my votes when I've finished watching the game.

Round 22: Carlton vs. GWS In Game Angst

It has started and we kicked the 1st goal! Matthew Watson: his 8 senior goal in 22 games.
They've had a lot of the ball, but we kicked straight!

  Brownlow and B&F

A couple of games to go but who do folk think will....

A) Be our top Brownlow vote winner
B) Win our Best and Fairest-The John Nicholl’s medal

Young Cripps spent the first bit of the year understudying Judd, but since his retirement Cripps has stepped up in a strong fashion.
His clearance work has been exceptional and his close-in play is right under the umpire’s vision. I reckon he’s the type of player that will poll well in the Umpire’s award.
Will it be the same in the B&F given that injury has curtailed the efforts of his competition (Murphy).

Who else has had a good year?

Last week 14 Carlton players were named and 7 actually played. This week 8 Carlton players are named. I wonder how many will actually take the field?

Very nice to see Armfield out there. I hope he is over his injury. (Please excuse the spelling mistakes: I'm still under the influence of the strange chemicals I was given in Hospital.)
