Interesting Starc is suing an IPL franchise for $1.5M in missed contractual payments due to injury.

I've been aware for some time that the biggest issue for IPL players is actually getting paid those lucrative contracts. It's the subcontinental way to avoid paying if you can, it's considered very good business, and if they get away not paying you it's your fault for providing them the opportunity!

Oddly, if you are a contract member of the BCCI test squad, as opposed to any other foreign player, I believe your IPL payments are guaranteed.

I'm not sure how that form of discrimination flies legally?

Next Sunday we play on the Gold Coast next Sunday against a team that has done better than expected so far. They have won a game and we haven't, no matter how close we've got.
We have travelled poorly in recent years.

Some of us are beginning to seriously doubt that BB is the man to take this group forward, to the next step, if you like.

Some of us are happy to trust BB with our future (those words made me shudder!). I guess this thread is to give voice to those who believe change is worth considering.

I'll put my two bobs worth forward. I have grave concerns that BB is not the man from here on. He seems to lack imagination and creativity with his coaching, no 'brand' if you will. And opposition coaches seem to out coach him week in, week out.

I believe BB was the right person to 'sweet talk' us through the rebuild but now we need someone with strong experience. When I hear BB is BBQing and driving home with players, and falling in love with the players I just shake my head... reactive stuff (heard about Buckley and Co and decided to emulate... )

But who? Well, for those of us believing change at the top of the coaching tree should be considered and discussed.. who springs to mind? I'd probably put Teague in the top job soon, see how he does, and consider who takes over from next year.

Not sure what Mo Hope does wrong, I thought I heard she played OK in a couple of AFLW/VFLW games since dropping all that weight but she got kiboshed again.

Rumors Tayla, Vescio, Davey, Harrington and the twins have all been approached. But under the AFLW rules this isn't a shock it's just normal, it's like they want to start and build this competition with maximum free agency. I think that's a bit tough on clubs if nothing else from a marketing and branding perspective, they should be able to secure the marquee players that they invest heavily in a little longer than just a season or two. But I suppose it's more complex give the girls are really only semi-professional status and want to do stuff like have babies. The idea they can be sportswomen as well as wives and mothers, something us old blokes need to get our head around!
