  Tesla electric car

Autonomous tesla car runs straight into a tree, kills the two passengers and it took 120,000 litres of water to extinguish the battery flames.

  AFLW - Relationships
Posted by: LP - 04-21-2021, 03:59 AM - Forum: Ladies Lounge - Replies (3)

I notice the AFLW media covering the number of relationships that seem to exist in AFLW circles.

If it hasn't already stitched up clubs, for example us with Bri Davey leaving, it's only a matter of time before it bites some club. I'm very surprised it's allowed, within a team it's basically a workplace relationship, and when they go bad they often burn down the house!

It also comes across a tad unprofessional.

  Captains.

When Cripps is 'on' he can be an inspirational leader.
I actually preferred Docherty when the last lot of discussions for Captain came up, but injury has had a big impact.

And there is the issue.
Cripps appears to struggle through seasons these days and I suspect (more often than we may realise)..... plays injured.
Docherty may never return to the consistent effectiveness he displayed pre-injury.
The longevity of both is uncertain.

We have two young players who are almost guaranteed 8-10 year+ starting 22 certainties.
I believe they've shown enough in on-field leadership through their playing efforts that they'd fit comfortably into the role.
But I guess those closer to the club would have a better idea as to the  all round suitability.
If they do get the tick....
At the end of this year should we make the change to a Weitering/Walsh dynasty to take us forward with a bit of stability for an extended period.
No Co-Captains....a traditional Captain/Vice Captain (in whatever combination)

Jim Park Voting: AFL 2021 Rd 5: Carlton vs Port Adelaide

You all know the rules. Hopefully there will be a lot of players worthy of a vote.

Voting is as usual: you have 15 votes to award pretty much as you will, with the following provisos:
[1] 15 votes in total, no more, no less.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player (even Cripps)
[3] Three players at least must get a mention.
[4] A grade for the game, A+ (what I want to see) to F-.

I'm probably the only person who goes into every game feeling angst, but that's what the anti-depressants for for!  Big Grin
I'll be at the game. A win would do wonders for my mental health! Smile They always do!

VFL 2021 Rd 1: Carlton vs Southport
Posted by: crashlander - 04-16-2021, 09:36 AM - Forum: Robert Heatley Stand - Replies (43)

The game is set for Saturday afternoon at home.
We have 9 Carlton listed players named, but the actual side isn't up yet.

9 is not a lot, considering our list, but with our injuries, I am happy to see that many. Hopefully the youngsters can put on a powerful showing.

Here is the line-up, as named a couple of minutes ago, just as I was about to post!

Backs: Cody Hirst Ed Delany Ryley Stoddart
Half-backs: Liam Stocker Stefan Radovanovic Cooper Stephens
Centreline: Sam Philp Lochie O'Brien Will Setterfield
Half-forwards: Matt Owies Josh Honey David Cuningham
Forwards: Corey Durdin Ben Crocker Ben Caluzzi
Followers: Alex Mirkov James Parsons Sam Ramsay
Interchange: Toby Wooller Tom North Dale Marshall Matt Shannon
Emergency: Daniel Guccione Aaron Gundry Lachie Swaney

Anyone for a guy forward? That is the smallest forward line I can ever remember for a Carlton team. Cunners might actually be the tallest of them!
Overall, the team appears small and fast (well, there is Lochie O'Brien).
Wooller is tall and can pinch hit in the ruck. Mirkov is 210 cm tall! I don't know much about him, he was only put on the list this week.
Zavier Maher is also on the list, but he is playing U19 footy this weekend for the Bushrangers.
From memory, the only other big fellow names is Aaron Gundry, who has been having injury problems of late. He was the Pioneers ruck last season (you know what I mean). He totally dominated Richmond a few weeks back, but got injured then and isn't 100% yet.
