Rd 8: In Game Angst: Carlton vs Port Adelaide
Posted by: crashlander - 05-12-2016, 11:09 PM - Forum: Robert Heatley Stand - Replies (85)

Our first game at Etihad for some time. We have shown we can play the MCG better this year: can we make the fast rack at Etihad a 'fortress' as well?
Who knows? But I can hope. I'll be at the game, so enjoy....

Next Saturday at 1400 at Burbank Oval (Willi), the Baby Blues will be looking to atone for todays shattering. That is not going to be easy. You would expect none of the 4 guys who got major injuries today to be available for some time. As to Carlton listed players, who knows when they will be fit? It is not a situation I expected us to be in so soon, even though I feared something like it before the season started.

  3 into 2 won't go.

We have a problem. ???
For a change it's not a bad problem.

How do we work our Ruckmen into the side?

Kreuzer seems to go better when he has the responsibility of  being the main ruckman.
Casboult seems to go better in an around the ground/2nd ruck role rather than being our key forward.
Phillips has shown signs that he could develop into the best option for that first ruck position.

Do we play Phillips and push the others back into their "secondary" roles....(Kreuzer 2nd Ruck, Casboult KPF)
Do we go with the structure we used yesterday and leave Phillips out...in which case his development is put on pause.

Carlton play Port Adelaide at Etihad at 1310 next Sunday, 15th May. Could it be 4 in a row?

I won't fill in the gap until I get home after the game and the result is known. Assuming my wife will let me onto the computer after spending all day in Melbourne. Smile Here is hoping for a win!

Just getting things ready for Saturday. I seem to remember when Saturday Afternoon Football was 'normal'. I wonder when it became the exception, rather than the rule?
Well, we do deserve to give it to the Meat Pies: we haven't saluted against them for far too long. About time we got out of that habit and started getting back into good habits: winning! Smile

Enjoy!

Rd 7: Jim Park Voting: Carlton vs Collingwood

Getting ready for a busy weekend. Saturday afternoon footy: I seem to remember it.... Smile

We certainly haven't beaten the Meat Pies for a while. To use an ancient slogan, 'Its Time!"

Remember:
[1] At least 3 players need to get a mention.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player.
[3] Give a rating of team performance. It can be anywhere from A+ to F.
[4] Votes must add up to 15.

  I'm out of here
Posted by: DJC - 05-03-2016, 10:52 AM - Forum: Blah-Blah Bar - Replies (11)

I will be heading off tomorrow morning for a trip across the Simpson Desert via the Madigan Line.

We will be staying at Mungerannie on Saturday so I may catch part of the game - I'm assuming the hotel has Foxtel.  Radio coverage is average at best and the game is not on the ABC so I'll probably miss out on radio coverage.  That will probably be it until I get back home, just in time for the Geelong game.

I'll be relying on CSC to keep me informed - if I can get internet coverage - so don't hold back.

Go Blues!

Parramatta, the CheatsFC of the NRL
Posted by: LP - 05-03-2016, 03:14 AM - Forum: The Sports Desk - Replies (8)

OK, Carlton gets whacked for TPP, but CheatsFC gets the lettuce leaf for the same.

Then CheatsFC get stung doping, and get another wet lettuce leaf for governance issues!

Melbourne Storm got smashed for TPP violations, effectively removed from the competition.

Parramatta get the wet lettuce leaf for TPP violations and can play on!

Are Parramatta the CheatsFC of the NRL?

VFL Rd 5: Northern Blues vs Casey Scorpions
Posted by: crashlander - 05-01-2016, 11:00 AM - Forum: Robert Heatley Stand - Replies (59)

Next Sunday, down at Casey, at 1400 the Baby Blues get a chance to redeem themselves after the setback they experienced this week.
There will be a number of questions, basically in who, if any, of the missing Carlton listed players come back.
Walker, Sheehan, etc, have to come up this week.

The Development team get to play Casey again, at 1100 as a curtain raiser. Scorpions: I can't seem to be able to spell at the moment.
