I don't know how I am going to vote without seeing the game, but hopefully I can work out what went right or wrong from the way the stats change.

For me, this was a complete revelation, I had never heard this story before !  What an unbelievable future this would have meant for Princes Park & the club if this had indeed come to fruition, and would have if not, it appears, for the pig headedness & very questionable political interference of the then Victorian premier, Mr Cain.

Imagine another 80 000+ seat stadium located at Princes Park from 1956 ? 

The MCG would have ceased to have a hold over the VFL/AFL in any way
Waverley might never have been built
Docklands might not even exist
Carlton's home ground & financial future would have been secured for a very long time

What a missed chance !

The VFL is a rather strange thing with all sorts of anomalies. This week is one of them: a bye for all but 2 teams. Can't quite see the sense in it myself, but it does allow us to regroup off the field and get a few more fit players playing next time we DO grace the field.
VFL stalwart and Blues' Captain Tom Wilson should return to add a little more grunt into a midfield that needs it. There should also be a few Carlton lads fit in a fortnight that will do us a lot of good.

On the other hand, Gussy Sheehan, Jack Silvagni and a couple of others need time on the field.

Next Sunday at Etihad.
Not likely to be good for us after last night, but at the moment we have holes in our line-up that we can't easily cover.

However, I would really like to pound these posing pretenders.

Like the last few rounds, I will complete the name for the thread when the game is over. I may not have the most positive vibe about this one: we have been effected by a LOT of injuries to key guys. But you never know what can happen.

I have missed a couple of game this year, unavoidably, it is true, but not what I really want to do. This is going to be another one: knee surgery yesterday left me unable to make it. Next week will be my daughter's 1st communion. Frustrating.
More frustrating is that we are not on free to air TV. Nichevo. I will be stuck in front of the computer screen tonight.

I don't know much about the Women's footy leagues.

But I would think given Carlton is applying for a team we should have a dedicated Notice Board setup for the discussion of the girls league, recruiting, coaches and performance.

If we don't get the nod for a team we can always shut it down later. But I think we at least need a notice board to keep up with discussions and potential recruits/draftees.

Women of Carlton anyone?
