VFL Rd 13: Northern Blues vs Collingwood
Posted by: crashlander - 06-28-2016, 05:37 AM - Forum: Robert Heatley Stand - Replies (35)

This week the Blues play the Meat Pies at the Holden Centre as sort of the Curtain Raiser at 1600 this Saturday. That way we may be able to see the game before the Blues - Pies game.
The Meat Pies have been winners lately, not as impressively as Sandringham, but winning all the same. As such the Blues are going to have play decently.

Where To For Dylan Buckley ??
Posted by: LordLucifer - 06-27-2016, 02:45 AM - Forum: Robert Heatley Stand - Replies (35)

Dylan Buckley was drafted in 2011 but debuted in RD 3 of 2013 yet to date, he has only managed 31 senior appearances.

Of greater concern is what strategic position is he best suited to ??

He's been trialled up forward as a goal-sneak but looked like a fish out of water, he has also been thrown into the midfield but it wasn't his strongest role. It's only been as a small defender where there has been any consistency of performance.

Out of contract at the end of this year, he is firmly under the microscope with no guarantees to be retained either.

I can't find a role for him at all in our team so I'm expecting him to be given a 1-year extension with some serious KPI's to go with it. Failure to cement a core position in the team will see him not achieve the KPI's and in turn, will be delisted at the end of 2017.

Next Saturday night. The Meat Pies are playing well. We are not, somewhat off the boil in the last few weeks. It will be interesting to see if we can rise to the occasion.

Jim Park Voting: Rd 14: Carlton vs GWS
Posted by: crashlander - 06-24-2016, 10:28 AM - Forum: Robert Heatley Stand - Replies (16)

I will be unlikely to vote this week, as I am very unlikely to see anything of the game. Hopefully we can perform better than we did against St Kilda.

Remember:
[1] At least 3 players need to get a mention.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player.
[3] Give a rating of team performance. It can be anywhere from A+ to F.
[4] Votes must add up to 15.

Rd 14: Post Game Pain: Carlton vs GWS

As usual, I will complete the title after the game with some appropriate. I have my preferences. Smile
Anyway, it is ready for use when required.

Game just done. I edited the topic title. I have no idea what happened except that we lost by about 10 goals.

Rd 14: In Game Anxiety: Carlton vs GWS
Posted by: crashlander - 06-24-2016, 10:24 AM - Forum: Robert Heatley Stand - Replies (51)

With the game in Sydney and only on Fox, I won't be seeing this week's game any time soon.
Pity, but it has happened quite a lot this year. I can't remember a year when I have not been able to see so many games while actually being in the country!
Those lucky enough to be there, shout loud for me!
At least I'll be able to see the Northern Blues on TV.  Wink

Anyway, I got this ready, as I have no idea how busy I'll be in the morning. I look forward to a much better performance than we showed against St Kilda.

Bryce Gibbs 200 Games - Wayne Carey's Article

A pretty positive article on Gibba by Duck. Interesting comment by Bryce that until recently he was content with just being an AFL player. I've seen that written many times on here!

That's changed though, and he says he now wants to improve himself as much as he can. BB has created a great environment at CFC - a new dawn has well and truly broken.

Gotta say that the Friday Front Bar is nearing cult status... just love it. Should be an hour.

Next would be the Sheehan interviews... quality stuff.

VFL Rd 12: Northern Blues vs Sandringham at Preston
Posted by: crashlander - 06-17-2016, 12:46 AM - Forum: Robert Heatley Stand - Replies (66)

Our next game is against Sandringham at 1410 on Saturday 25th. Our team will be missing at least 1 of the emergencies that will be named next Thursday.
It will be very interesting to see who plays.
