AFLW 2019 Rd 2: Carlton vs Adelaide
Posted by: crashlander - 02-03-2019, 03:53 AM - Forum: Ladies Lounge - Replies (9)

Another shocker in Tassie down and our first ever Rd 1 loss. Sad Hopefully the girls can regroup at home and being us back to the winner's list.
But at the moment, 2019 is not looking good.

AFLW 2019 Rd 1: Carlton vs North Melbourne

Our girls getting outclassed at present. F50 entries coming out quickly,  North making us pay. Structure seems to disappear for periods with the obvious cost.

Go Blues

  Any Punters out there?

I need a second set of eyes on something

The Melbourne Jockey Premiership

So over half way through the season the standings are

C Williams 35
J Allen 26
M Zahra 21
D Oliver 17
E Brown 17
D Dunn 17
D Lane 16

Sportsbet have Williams @ $2.70, same as D Lane to win
Am I missing something?
Other sites have Williams @ $1.60, I have him shorter

  Casboult to CHB

I thought I’d throw this one out for discussion. The fact is the guy can move and would be a challenge for any team bombing into their forward 50. Ok, he’s not the most agile, but he ain’t bad and his field kicking is generally ok.

Another benefit would be moving Jones out to the wing, which would mean that I wouldn’t need to bring an oxygen tank to the footy each week as I hold my breath with every kick me takes in D50.

Weitering FB, Casboult CHB and Marchbank third tall.

Food for thought!

OK, I realise I'm not worldly by music standards, but really?

Quote:Janet Jackson joins her brother Michael and the Jackson 5 as members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, earning induction on Thursday along with Stevie Nicks and the top fan vote-getter, Def Leppard.

Radiohead, The Cure, Roxy Music and The Zombies also join.

Janet Jackson, is Kylie in there? (Yes, I'm being sarcastic!)

  The Rage Plagiarism?
Posted by: LP - 12-13-2018, 09:03 PM - Forum: Blah-Blah Bar - Replies (4)

OK, some of you have no doubt read John Le Carre novels.

I read this articles in The Rage today, supposedly an outline of events that lead to the arrest of Huawei's CFO.

https://www.theage.com.au/business/compa...50m24.html

You'll be alarmed at noticing similarities between this "investigative report", if you can call it that, and John Le Carre's novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

I looked for the line that read, April Fools, but couldn't find it!

In my opinion The Rage should add a new disclaimer for articles like this, "Fantasy by Plagiarism"

FFA shooting itself in the foot AGAIN
Posted by: Thryleon - 12-13-2018, 02:02 AM - Forum: The Sports Desk - Replies (76)

Hi Guys

This is me having a rant about the FFA and it's new expansion.

The decision to overlook the Oceania team of the century, and still most successful Australian Football club at the highest level in order to "set up shop" in Wyndham is akin to the AFL's glorious decision to setup the Gold Coast Suns.

At least the AFL didnt disregard a big club in that process.

Its all very anti Ethnic, even though Melbourne Victory have used the Scottish national anthem as their theme song, which says a little bit about the state of play of things in this nation.

Instead of picking a club that was established, has junior and senior setup for both boys and girls of all ages, and has its own training facilities, and home ground ready to go, they have gone with a bid that aims to build its own stadium and establish a green field club.

I want my sport back.  Rant over. >Sad
