Daisy and Billy in the jungle?
Posted by: kruddler - 01-06-2020, 12:12 AM - Forum: Blah-Blah Bar - Replies (22)

I'm a celebrity is currently announcing which 'celebrities' are going into the jungle and there are 2 more announced tonight which most are tipping to be Daisy Thomas and Billy Brownless.

I'm not usually a fan of the show, but i did see large parts of it when Fev was involved and its very 'warts and all' and compelling viewing. This is where Fev came clean about all his issues with mental health, gambling and his sacking with Vossy in the mental institute.

Reckon both Daisy and Billy would have a fair bit of laundry to air out in public that would be worth listening too.

Would either of these 2 make the difference between you watching it or not?

"Heroes" - An AFLW documentary on Kayo Sports
Posted by: kruddler - 01-04-2020, 10:04 AM - Forum: Ladies Lounge - Replies (1)

So i don't often open up Kayo to look for something to watch, i usually just go there to watch something i know is on (or just happened).

Anyway, time off, so why not have a browse....and i'm thankful i did.

"Heroes" is probably an hour or so long and tells the story of the AFLW in its first season. It takes a good look at both the on-field stuff, and the behind the scenes stuff from all angles. It has player, coach and administrator interviews as well as footage from the games.....and candid footage of players going about their lives.

Darcy Vescio features heavily. Lauren Arnell and Damian Keeping (our first captain and coach) are also featured. There are also quite a few words spoken from 'that collingwood chick' as well for those interested....i know there are at least a couple. Wink

Its a cracking watch and reminds everyone on how and why it all began and what it means to all those involved.

Its very well done and worth a watch.
Will get you excited about the up coming season too

I see, so it's paralysis by responsibility inversion, avoid any action or decision making by posing questions framed in an invalid frame of reference.

It's the fire victims fault for not delivering ScoMo a responsibility and liability free solution!

That is the Federal Gov refusing to fund the "National Aerial Fire-fighting Service" on the grounds it is a State Gov responsibility!

Isn't the answer to your fake question encapsulated in the authorities name?

I always thought the States were a sub-set of the Nation?

  Deer in the Headlights
Posted by: LP - 01-03-2020, 01:52 AM - Forum: Blah-Blah Bar - Replies (193)

This Scomo bloke has lost the plot, he's a deer in the headlights completely incapable of making a decision or actually doing something.

He can't even deal with the very simple little issues like remuneration for volunteers let alone the much much harder big decisions around climate, sustainability and the environment.

God won't save him, in just the same way God won't save many of the bush fire victims.

Scomo has to go, in my opinion his position is now untenable. If the Libs are as pissweak as they seem he might make it to the next election, but the merest reminder of his current fright frozen state makes him repugnant to voters!

  Christmas / NY
Posted by: Baggers - 12-23-2019, 09:42 PM - Forum: Blah-Blah Bar - Replies (18)

Just wanted to start a thread to wish all on this site, and visitors, all the very best for a safe and joyful holiday season.

Also, if you want, I and I assume others, might be interested in knowing what some of us are getting up to over the break.

First Christmas in ages that Mrs Baggers and I are taking it easy. Just the two of us on Christmas day and lots of visitors over the following week. Besides, the home renovation is now in the home stretch and I'm keen to finish it... and if I don't complete Mrs Baggers' timber outdoor setting there'll be 2/3rds of a pawnbrokers sign over our front door.

Cheers and very best folks...

  Clean Sport

I don't know what to make of the pending Russia ban.

To me it doesn't make a lot of sense as it hurts even the clean athletes.

The assertion that they are all dirty is plainly wrong, and in my opinion this ban eventuates simply because authorities have been too lenient on individual sports-people, and also far too lenient on systematic drug cheats like CheatsFC.

If they get serious with bans and challenges when athletes are caught, and kibosh some of the dinky penalties and reversals we see occurring when a high profile gets whacked, like the Chinese swimmer and some of the tennis players. Then things will clean themselves up naturally, it's the appearance of disparity that makes situations like this Russia farce occur.

People are getting life bans off the whiff of a hint of a fume, mostly because they aren't lawyered up, while others with financial resources are being cleared after growing an extra head or leg!

As an aside, I think one thing the IOC could do is provide a stipend for athletes wishing to compete under the no-country flag. Let them prove themselves clean and then offer compensation similar to the Russian winners bonus, so that they at least have some hope of financial recompense for efforts.

In any case, I've become a bit bored with the whole this country versus that country rubbish, all that does is lead to a Trump or Putin. The Olympics should be about the best of the best head to head, not about this politicised country versus that country rubbish!

I thought it appropriate to acknowledge the contribution Lods has made to our Carlton Supporters Club as he begins life as a retired moderator.

I understand that Lods became a moderator shortly after Noah’s flood and he has been instrumental in keeping CSC members on track ever since.  I think that an effective moderator is rarely noticed, except by those who transgress, and I believe that Lods has been outstanding in performing his role with the minimum of fuss.  We will miss his calm and thoughtful approach to keeping CSC a happy place for supporters of the mighty Blues.

It’s not all doom and gloom; Lods will continue to contribute and share in the resurgence of our great club,

Well done Lods and thanks for your efforts  ????????
