- stating that we don't make the 8, he is gone at years end.
- if we where 0-5 or 0-6, they would sack him sooner Agree, finals are the expectation, if that doesnt happen then his position will be on the line, thats just the normal course of events
for any coach/club that are hyped up as contenders for the finals.

No offence to him, but our current midfield coach is Barker, we'd be better off having Barker fix Cripps marking! :o
Yes LP, Luke Power should leave a lasting impression on our younger mids and the club's fortunes over the next several years.
I'm not sure why line coaches aren't assigned to the lines where they played :-\
Is it that they are just implementing the head coach's agenda and aren't meant to be addressing individual player's areas of improvement?

The target is still there but the knives have been sheathed ... for now

He's a CFC coach, the target's always there.

Says a lot. Not much good....
It is embarrassing, very embarrassing that our coaching group didn't work this out earlier... or try something earlier. But, better late than never and if a talent can be channelled into productive output for the club - ripper.
Helluva indictment on Barker, but then none of us is surprised.

A couple have put their hand up though
and of course Lord Lucifer actually posted alternatives in the sack Teague thread today FFS.
No, I didn't take it personally.
I just didn't notice a lot of folk actually saying they wanted Teague gone...it was more about the fact that 0-2 was a shaky start and there were changes in personnel and tactics they would like to see.
Continued losses would only increase the pressure.
Our last two performances have eased that pressure a little....but we probably need that big scalp for folks to feel a little more positive.
Big game this week.

Barker is not a development coach and has only been midfield coach for a couple of seasons - and Cuningham is in the forwards group.
If Barker is to wear the blame for poor development, Bolts and Teague have to share it - particularly Teague who was Cuningham’s line coach for a couple of seasons.
The bottom line is that our player development has been lacking for far too long. Criticism of our player drafting should be tempered in that light.

I suspect you're right but I see this as an overall 'safety' or 'conservative' approach of the club in so many areas. You can see it reflected in selection... always conservative and too often out of form blokes still get a gig. I understand that injuries sometimes hamstring selection.
And it probably is an indictment on a number of people that the newbie into the group identified the Cameo King's dreadful inconsistencies, poor defensive mindset yet sublime skills and hence created a new approach with the kid which seems to be reaping benefits... well, so far! I single out Barker as he's been with the club in the coaching dept the longest and is the most senior next to the actual senior coach.
But, ultimately, like Jones, a complete change of mindset toward a bloke MAY be the saving of that bloke.

Not all stars make great coaches, but the ones that seem to coach well have a way of being really great coaches.
Leigh matthews and Ron Barrassi as examples.
That being said average joes who make the most of their careers also seem to make good coaches.
There might be something that is common across the successful ones worth analysing. My bet is its a mindset thing.
