2019 AFLW Preliminary Final: Carlton vs Fremantle
#1
We've been dudded somewhat, with a 6 day break after being the last game on the last round, but why I am I surprised?

Saturday 23 March
First preliminary final
Carlton (first in Conference B) vs Fremantle (second in Conference A) at Ikon Park, 2.45pm EDT

At least we have a chance of being on TV.

The AFL does whatever it can to penalise us, to hold us back, keep us down etc.
We should be using the US against THEM mantra. Who is THEM, EVERYONE!  >Sad

In fairness Freo have to travel, it's a bad deal for them as well.

Looks like the Crows or Cats are the favorites, they get an extra day of break and a 30min flight. Although the LTWF suggests they'll be playing in 27°C on the Sunday before the GF.

The fixturing has been done with an eye to the location of the grand final.

That is, the next week the Grand Final is played on a sunday, because IF it was played on a saturday, then ground availability would be an issue especially from the other side of the draw.
Adelaide and Geelong both play at home in the mens game on saturday. (Adelaide oval and gmhba stadium)

So both those venues are obviously available on the sunday. As is Ikon.

So play the GF on the sunday so it can be played wherever the afl sees fit.

Tilly is lucky to be there. She didn't have a great game last week.

I think her aggression will be needed in the final.
More experience and hardness compared to the 18yo McKay.

I thought the Blues ran out with a mascot ... but it was Georgia Gee ????
