AFLW 2019 Rd 3: Carlton vs GWS in Sydney
#1
I am quite surprised to find us on TV tomorrow afternoon on 'mate'. But I am happy: we haven't got much air time on TV for a long time.

CARLTON

B: L.Brazzale 12, K.Harrington 9, J.Hosking 11
HB: N.Stevens 21, J.Van Dyk 36, G.Pound 6
C: B.Davey © 1
HF: M.Prespakis 4, T.Harris 7, K.Loynes 2
F: N.Plane 32, D.Vescio 3, J.Edwards 25
R: A.Downie 30, A.Mullane 8, B.Moody 16
Int: K.Bentley 13, C.Dalton 15, G.Gee 19, S.Hosking 10, B.Walker 14
Emg: A.McKay 5, R.Watt 22

In: T.Harris, B.Walker
Out: R.Watt, S.Audley

Some interesting selections. Harris returning was a no-brainer. Walker is potentially a good in. And it looks like Abby McKay is getting close to her debut. Watt was a bit stiff: if she'd been able to stand up late in the game, she'd be playing this week. Audley has been ordinary so far, but I am  little surprised that she was dropped. She is a tackling machine at her best.

GREATER WESTERN SYDNEY

B: E.Brush 10, R.Tomkins 1, P.Randall 21
HB: A.Farrugia ©, L.Stephenson 12, P.Monahan 28
C: A.Eva 2

F: C.Bernardi 4, C.Staunton 13, T.Mackrill 32

I/C: M.Collier 14, T.Hetherington 9, E.Bennetts 22, A.Parker 3, J.Hicks 5
Emg: D.Gisu 30, H.Zreika 24

Good energy from the girls early. Vescio giving away the free (dubious) jumping around on the mark, forces the smother, gathers to Harris who marks deep but misses.

Locking the ball in after the kick in and looking on.

Keep up this pressure and we'll go alright.

2.2 to 0.0

Giants only had 1 inside 50 thus far (i think) and are being dominated.

Not really sure how we didn't get one of 2 free kicks for high contact there, yet they got a goal.

Yes, I think it was one of the Hoskings should have been rewarded for an obvious around the neck on the HBF.

Prespakis getting better each and every week, and she was close to BOG in R1.

2 goals in the quarter from the young midfielder.

Blues 40
Giants 20
halftime.

This is the first game I've seen this year so I'm judging it on a pretty small sample but I reckon the overall standard is up considerably on last year.

3 goals up. 1 quarter to go.

We blew a 17 point lead last week. We've had 20 (more?) point lead this week.

Lets close this one out and get our first win on the board.
