Robbing Peter to pay Paul though EB? I only watched abit of the last qtr but I thought I heard the commentators say Jones played a cracker. Is the correct?

Jones played well GTC but Stewart slaughtered us and was BOG, yep moving Jones would mean weakening the backline but we had a chance to win the game and
you have to take risks and hope fortune favours the brave..
Scott wasnt convinced Geelong had the game won and started Dangerfield at FF in the last quarter even though he had been their best midfielder......he took the risk and it paid off.

Bolton lacks imagination or courage to make moves IMO....Jones has the capability of being a good swingman, we needed to kick goals, take marks down forward/contest better to create more crumbs and get Stewart occupied more.
Harry, Kerr and Charlie was too tall for those conditions and I would have taken Harry and Kerr off and used Charlie, Jones and 4 smaller forwards.....

Funny how they chose NOT to replay the 'bad' angle and showed the other side which had 5 blokes blocking view of what occurred.

Indeed. Ruccuito sounded amazed saying how can 4 umpires miss that. It was spotlighted in the vision and highlighted by the expert comments. But no  doubt it will just go away as if it never happened. Is Scott on the "Look of the game committee " or whatever the heck it is? Project no. 1 IMO Dog of an act.

Lost respect for Geelong tonight.
Their bully boy and flopping to the ground at every opportunity tactics were pathetic. They seemed to lose the plot when a team they thought they could physically and mentally push over easily, stood up to their rubbish. Their supporters are a bunch of country bumpkin sooks too, but what do you expect from a bunch who idolise a diving cheat like Selwood.

Ablett looks just like the whinig Scott without hair on field. They act like spoilt brats spitting their dummy every time things don't suit them. It's nauseating to watch. My great respect for Ablett and Danger has been heading south for a while now.

No offence EB but I’m glad the selection committee didn’t shortlist your application for the coaching position 

Taking Jones out of the backline would have let the Geelong forwards off the leash and it wouldn’t have improved our delivery into the forward line.  I’m not sure that Jones’ time in defence will have improved his ability to play as a key forward.  I suspect that, with Jones forward, we would have had fewer inside 50s and an out of position key forward failing to get to the ball.

McKay, Kerr and Curnow weren’t too tall for the conditions, they were too inexperienced.  Swapping two of them for Jones wouldn’t have made much difference ... and who would we have played in defence, Kerr perhaps?

I actually thought there was a lot to like about our performance, especially effort/intensity. It was only inexperience and tired young bodies that prevented us winning.

Scott's comment that his defenders effectively helped us with brain fades, was very disingenuous. I thought our pressure forced them into error. If we'd held our marks up forward, and were a little cleaner we would have kicked a lot more goals. Only inexperience prevented us kicking an impressive score... we held Scott's Sooky Sooky La La's to a losing score.

Not sure that match day tactics is BBs forte. Better support?

Wrapped to see Plowman's return to form. Terrific game.

Weitering was solid, looked at home and not out of place like early in the year and last year.

Jones got it right and was really good.

Cuningham is fortunate he was on the end of some good work and kicked a goal. I still have serious doubts about whether this bloke will make it, just goes missing too often and makes dreadful mistakes when there's heat close by.

SPS, after a sluggish start was hard at it and backed himself at times - good to see.

O'Brien needs some VFL time. Future gun, though.

Crippa and Ed were rippers.

Kerr looks like a natural forward... liked what we saw.

Lamb, McKay and Cuningham were our only passengers, though we did see some glimpses from H... but he just seems clueless at times!

A lot more positives than negatives.

Tough life learning to be a key forward in our forward line. Harry's looking at having 40ish goals in his first 20 games so it's nice and encouraging that he still has plenty to learn still too.

EB I think BB is going very conservatively/cautiously for now and won't be taking too many risks in order to try to win games. His priorities lie with player development and game plan imo and so will be very much sticking to the KISS principle. Winning I think in his book is a "nice to have" within this overall framework but he is tring to get the idea of structure and role hammered into the heads of players first and foremost. We'll see eventually I guess.

When Ablett was given a free for tackling Cripps, 11:42s mark of the 3rd Qtr. Cripps had both hands free holding the ball and Ablett was awarded the free kick within 2s, probably the umpire had to make up his mind in less than 1s given the time it takes for the umpire to decide then blow the whistle.

That is the definition of bullshit!
