It's almost as if it was deliberate, we probably could have done better with a dart board.

Their were gags running around the recruiting circles that Carltons recruitment plan should be obtained at all costs to determine who not to pick. Recruiters at others tables literally laughed out loud when we selected Boeky at 19.

As a long time supporter I can recall watching Luke Livingstone in his early games and wondering what on earth we saw in him to justify pick 4, I also remember Hampson's first few games and thinking to myself that I'd never seen a player at that level with so little clue about the game and how to play it.
Watson was slow, not particularly big and hopeless below his knees, Lucas was a wide runner with poor foot skills and the less said about Bootsma the better.
Taken in that context the Boekhorst selection makes perfect sense, but bear in mind that Boekhorst was only 9 or so picks higher than Vojo Rainbow who never looked remotely likely to play a senior game, so in the great cavalcade of Carlton draft blunders Boekhorst is fairly middling.

Watching the VFL, you would think Rowe and Phillips were a soda to come in, especially in a week we need to deal with Naitanui and Kennedy.

Reading Fraser's review, you'd think it was a soda that Rowe and Phillips come in, especially in the week that we have to deal with Naitanui and Kennedy.

But with our MC, I've no fecking idea, they'll probably promote Le Bois and Polson!
