Is there a place for Rowe?

Agree...you need options and experience, Jones is a goer but he lacks experience as a defender and makes some basic errors at times...
Rowe gives you a few options..KP defender, relief ruck, KP Forward if required, might also mean Jones can be used in different areas of the ground too to add some bite...
Port like to use Westhoff in this type of role where he fills holes and covers bases.....they now have him playing on the wing given their riches in talent and he is dominating games getting
a lot of the ball, bit of part time rucking and moving forward. Be nice if a player like Jones could assume that role for us....

Our backline is looking extremely unsettled without Docherty.

We need to get back as many players who have played together quick smart because our current defensive unit is showing a lack of cohesion that results in lots of instability.

Sometimes it's not about what an individual can do himself but rather the effect on those around him.

Also I think he's a better player than you seem to be inferring.

We are rebuilding and I just don't think the club will see Sam as a long term prospect. I don't have anything against him as a player tbh but I think the club wants to move focus to a younger group. I accept he might get a few cameos over the next year or two.

Jones is gaining experience all the time EB, especially playing behind our midfield atm.

Yes,  Rowe back ASAP.  We must get our back six reorganised  ASAP and he is a key component.

Not sure as it's a  mess right now....  When fit Docherty,  March bank and Williamson.  Then ACos,  Plowman and Simmo.  Chuck in Rowe or Weitering as options on the pine.

Problem is that most of that list are injured or horribly out of form.

I am Byrne fan but has been putrid recently and Mullet is just awful. That leaves us very short of running/rebounding options.  Jones makes too many basic errors, which invariably  cost goals.

I wanted to chase Trengrove as a FA last year. Better player than Rowe or Casboult.

Maybe Prof, but he is another example of a gentleman footballer, and I think they just suffer in our system.

We made a philisophical decision when we kiboshed the likes of Fev, Robinson and Garlett.

We didn't want trouble even if it was talented trouble, we want to play football 1920s style, all handshakes, afternoon tea, dinner followed by port and cigars before a carriage ride home past the adoring fans!

Since then we've struggled to attract talent, because most of the talent we need wants to be surrounded by the harder edge, they want to win and not bother with smoked salmon quartets and tea cakes.

Was it you who wanted to chase Watts?  Trengrove can play KP either end and ruck,  Watts is a soft finisher with dodgy training standards.
