Rd 12: Pre game Prophecies: Carlton vs St. Kilda
#11
Saints are a good young side but I think we will go okay. Senior hardened bodies help.. big tackles hurt young bodies. Our defensive game is excellent haven't seen it this good in decades - we are tough to score against. 8 day break is really nice

For some reason I can't see it happening.

The way we play is a style that is going to really trouble the younger/lighter Saints. The Cats game obviously took a fair bit out of the guys for today.

Its good our back six is functioning so well, the Aints have a few dangerous fwd options so they will need to be on their game. As someone else said, we are very hard to score against, that will continue next week.

If we get up this will be another really solid win, more than people will give it credit for. McCartin, Membrey, Bruce and when Riewoldt is down there will be a big challenge for our backline.

Make sure the game is played mainly in our fwd half and we won't be too worried by the Saints forwards, they will have to worry about ours.
Reality always wins in the end.

The way the saints are going at the moment (crows 68 - 14), we might have the confidence advantage too Wink

Quote:Hugh Goddard and Paddy McCartin both left the field in separate incidents, leaving the Saints down to two on the bench.

Goddard has suffered a suspected Achilles injury during the second quarter against Adelaide on Sunday.

Quote:The club’s evening went from bad to worse on the injury front late in the third term, when emerging star McCartin was also stretchered from the field.

McCartin clashed heads with teammate Jack Newnes, only to clash heads again with Adelaide’s Luke Brown when he rebounded off Newnes.

Bad news for them.
Good news for us.
