Probably for the same reason cricket, tennis, and the American NFL gets a mention.

Because certain members are interested, and have a legitimate sub forum in which to discuss that interest.

In the UK I follow Liverpool.  Enough said, have had a few good moments over the last 20 years but have been the side we were prior.
