It’s interesting to read psychiatric diagnoses of Biden and Aurangzeb.
While almost all agree that it’s not possible to diagnose people from afar, there is broad agreement that Biden’s sensory peripheral neuropathy is often misdiagnosed as dementia by lay folk. However, several medical specialists are concerned that Biden may have a Parkinson’s variant called progressive supranuclear palsy.
There’s less reluctance to diagnose Aurangzeb from afar with “more than 70,000 mental health professionals who signed a petition warning of Trump's potential dangerousness.”
One person who isn’t shy about diagnosing Aurangzeb is his niece, Mary, a clinical psychologist. Of course, Mary has intimate knowledge of Aurangzeb’s childhood and upbringing and the impact it had on him and his siblings. Mary states that abandonment issues, narcissism, stunted emotional growth and caffeine dependence have combined to form a 78 year-old toddler who is potentially the most powerful person on the planet.

They're both corpses. One has already been given last rites, and the other one is about to.

News Corpse may be about undergo significant changes if Rupert/Lachlan lose their Nevada court case. If it becomes 3 v 1 when discussing strategic company philosophy, Fox/Sky/HUN etc as we know it may be about to have a significant clipping of wings (well, the right one anyway).
This is now the longest premiership drought in the history of the Carlton Football Club - more evidence of climate change?

Mary plays her psychological insights/diagnosis of 'Donny' with a very straight bat. By the book. Most of us can deal with and do something about abandonment issues, drug dependence, stunted emotional growth ...and so on, pretty well. But the diagnosis by Mary of uncle Donny's narcissism is not just narcissism, most people have some of this as a survival mechanism. But nothing to the same degree than when this narcissism is to the level of a 'disorder.'
What she notes about her uncle is far worse than just 'narcissism.' She notes his condition as pathological, as presenting as NPD and/or BPD... Narcissistic Personality Disorder/Borderline Personality Disorder... you could probably throw in Antisocial Personality Disorder (Sociopathic) as well. The difference between being 'narcissistic' and the before mentioned disorders is like comparing a bit of sciatic pain in your leg to being paralyzed from the neck down!
Those folks with the above disorders, especially the 'white-collar' versions, present as highly charming, even warm and friendly. Even smart! They tend to speak in sweeping generalizations, be highly grandiose and seductive, convincing liars (they actually believe their lies) and everything and everyone around them is but an item for use - for them. Once their usefullness has been fulfilled, they're discarded. Yer fer me or agin me. Key word - me. Nutshell: very sad, and very dangerous. Tend to destroy all around them before destroying themselves. Their kryptonite? Accountability and facts.

This is probably a good example of how different American News organisations would present this
A left leaning news source would probably go with.
Mary Trump a qualified psychologist with a lifetime connection to Donald Trump has diagnosed these issues with Trump. She has a PhD in Psychology. She has written a book about the family "Too much and never enough, How my family created the World's most dangerous man (Trump)". She is extremely competent and her family history means her assessment of Trump's mental profile would be pretty much spot on.
A right leaning news source would be more inclined to give more weight in any assessment to these snippets.
Mary is estranged from the family. She supported Clinton in the 2016 Presidential election. There have been a number of law suits relating to the will of Donald Trump's father. Mary has sued several members of the family. She is also a gay woman, a group that doesn't necessarily gel with your average MAGA fan.
Most of us would probably agree with Mary Trump's "diagnosis"...but we'd also have to consider that this is a bit of a hostile witness and there may be a degree of personal bias at play.

I have absolutely no doubt that Mary isn't hesitant or shy about giving her uncle such a damning diagnosis, but if she was wrong she'd lose her 'ticket' in an instant in the US. Those whose qualifications surpass Mary's have never questioned her diagnosis. Donny's symptoms are on display, almost daily, for those trained to recognize such pathologies.
As for media reporting, most simply wouldn't understand the gravity of Donny's serious psychological issues.

I’m not so sure about that Paul.
The presidency and the passage of time has certainly had an impact on Biden but his intellect is still apparent, if only in cameo. His time is definitely up though, and probably should have been before the last election.
Aurangzeb, for all his flaws and faults and the weird relationship he has with the MAGA cultists, is still an even money chance to become the next POTUS.

Absolutely. Important to remember that around 72m Americans still voted for Trump in his losing election.
How long would Trump have lasted as Prime Minister of Australia? Probably 6-9 months at best.
As a dear American friend who often visits and actually loves Australia once said to me many moons ago, "One of the things I especially love about your culture is that you have such a healthy disrespect for authority."
A huge % of the US population is still deeply effected by a very insular education system which is also very influenced by conservative religious values and unhealthy patriotism. And a meek and inward focussed mainstream media.
Although it's been a couple of decades since I worked in the US for a short while I was really astonished by their general ignorance of the rest of the world. I had a cheeky habit of asking many every day folks there what they believed was the % of the global population that was not white American. Just under 3% wasn't believed.
