I have to laugh at Rita Panahi and her report that there is backlash against Taylor Swift for endorsing Harris, like Swiftys actually read News Ltd? ;D

Panahi is of course preaching to her own choir, that's just an attempt to actually retain Trump support in the News Ltd reader base.

In terms of trying to use News Ltd to reach and influence Swiftys she may as well be screaming at full volume marooned in a sound proof box on the bottom of the ocean!

One of them is children and teens who want to transition and are not feeling their parents are supporting them can go to Minnesota and without parental consent the court can take minor children into their custody who are not getting the 'gender affirming care'. During this period non reversal surgeries can be undertaken. Parents will not have access during this time.

It's a bogus allegation that kids can go and get procedures without parental consent, completely and thoroughly debunked by Minnesota health officials (and other states) well over 18 months ago, this is an old accusation dredged up again and again by MAGA nutters. They polish it up, turn it around for a different perspective, and put it on display again, they obviously think the world is made of people like 10 second Tom!

Recently the MAGA nutters have even created bogus looking government style websites to try and sell the idea kids can legally separate themselves from parents and have gender changing procedures, all the MAGA claims are bogus.

I suppose some will assert the kids can snack on a cat or dog on the journey interstate, before being sold into the sex slavery of a paedophile businessman at a secret island holiday venue the Trump plane visited while empty?

Agree it is always more complicated then each side makes it out to be - In the end it all depends which side of the fence you sit on as to where you find your information and then how you review it, believe it or challenge it.

Trumps 'fake news' line likely applies to both sides of politics so very hard to get balanced non biased information these days.   

Most of us have a side whether we want to disclose it or not and then follow the path media wise that supports this side which then with the way the media is today just strengthens each persons views as the information is so biased regardless where you go. Very usual for folk to swap their preference regardless how their leader perform - a bit like barracking for the mighty blues - You just cant like anyone else even if you finish last!

I mean, sure, we all have biases, and some lean more left and some right, but I think Fox's issues are much deeper and more profound than just being a conservative "news" source.

Speaking specifically about the US election cycle and media coverage....

I joked at one time about spending my mornings switching from CNN to Fox (US) to MSNBC...to get a balanced view.
It's actually something that I do most mornings after getting the Australian news from Nine (mostly) or Seven.
Especially during election years.
It really depends on the particular show and who is delivering it as to the level of bias.

But it's pretty obvious that few of the sources are without some level of pushing a certain line of a story.
This is usually done by the omission of information that doesn't fit the narrative the station is trying to present...rather than a distortion of the truth.

So yep
Depending on your political bent you will favour one source of information, often rejecting another as extremist in their views, and not worth your time.
I tend to spend most of my time on CNN.

"Do you really watch that crap." is often referenced when talking about Fox watchers.
What you do get is an understanding of the thinking behind a large section of the American voter.

They're not all right wing nut jobs, and many are moderates with genuine concerns about the issues that affect their daily lives.
What's their thinking?
You can't understand that unless you draw on the sources of their preferred information, and not confine yourself only to those sources that reinforce your own thinking.

But I understand how folks can reject anything that doesn't sit comfortably with them so here's a little chart to plan your viewing in the lead-up to the election. (I think we've had this before somewhere in the thread.)

There’s a massive problem with the mainstream media in the USA.  While Fox is just a MAGA propaganda arm and doesn’t bother about the truth or otherwise of anything that comes out of Aurangzeb’s mouth, the “proper” mainstream media is guilty of “sane washing” his crazy claims and outright lies.

For example, when asked whether he had legislation ready to address childcare needs, Aurangzeb went a long, convoluted rant about how tariffs would generate a massive income windfall for the US government, all paid for by China, Europe, Mexico and any others who have the temerity to export their products to the US, and with no extra cost imposed on US citizens.

The mainstream media reported that Aurangzeb has a plan to increase tariffs and fund more childcare places.  They should have reported that Aurangzeb couldn’t answer a question about childcare and has NFI about how tariffs work and, particularly, that it’s the consumer that pays the extra cost, not the foreign exporters.

Whatever you may think of our media, they wouldn’t let an Aussie politician get away with that … and particularly the disgraceful lies being told about late term abortions and gender reassignment!

If you happen to be one of his supporters, he is sh1tting on your future every bit as much as anybody possibly can, I think the morons actually think if Trump wins he'll send them all a few bucks to celebrate! I suspect, if Trump came across a broken and beleaguered MAGA supporter down to his last quid, Trump is more likely to steal the cash!
