Is Judd stopping Cripps' Development?

I would be resting Judd and crips on the forward line interchanging them onto the ball with each other.They both cannot stay on the ball all day and that allows them to work in there with the likes of Gibbs and murph who then can be the outside runners.Throw in curnow as your tagger and bell and graham as your changes and it doesn't look to bad. Everitt and yarran onto the wings where they can both go forward and back.and Thomas as a lock down small forward.So the side would look something like this.

H/ b.    simo    Rowe.  Doc
C.        Yaz.      Gibbs.  Everitt

Don't underestimate the power of Chris Judd.

....but does that mean he's hampering his development.

It's like if you're an apprentice working with a tradesman.
While he's around and showing you things you take a backseat and learn.
When he's not around you have the ability to put your own style on the job......and make the odd mistake without fear of being picked up on it.

Both are valuable learning experiences, but you take your time with the master while you still have it.
You have plenty of time to strike out on your own.

I haven't noticed him become invisible when Judd plays. Far from it.

Sadly, we probably won't see them in the same team again after today.

For all the wrong reasons it won't be an issue for the rest of the season.

Juddy passed the baton to Cripps today.  One star leaves but a new one is born.

In the years to come Cripps will probably look back on these early seasons and be very grateful for the opportunity to play alongside one of the greats....as will the young guys who play with Cripps at the end of his career
