Trump on the other hand is a bit of a loose cannon.
He'll be hell bent on squaring up with a few who he feels have done him wrong.
He'll surround himself with sycophants in positions of power and they'll mostly do things that will keep them in his good books.
I wouldn't be surprised what he gets up to...but a lot of old 'alliances' will be under a bit of stress.

With a 24/7 BS artist like Trump, it's hard to know how much his gobbing off is for show, and how much he intends to implement. He seems tailor made for what Chris Hedges calls the phenomenology of TV.

At any rate, that country was going to the dogs long before he showed up.

Which in turn makes Democracy weaker... if indeed it makes him stronger. One thing is for certain, it will deepen and widen the division in the US.

Having a convicted felon running the country seems appropriate for the USA.
Don't think the verdict will change many of the voters minds..

Agreed, it's more about technicalities and legalities now, for example can Senators legally associate with a known felon?

Does a felon have the legal power to enact laws and procedural changes in government, etc., etc.?

I agree it doesn't change the vote much, the USA seems to be a society that thinks anything and everything has a price, including guilt, revenge and forgiveness. Perhaps it should be renamed JUDAS, it already has 3 of the 5 letters and plenty of silver!

There are some folks you wouldn't want to be this morning.

Judge, jurors, prosecution witnesseses and lawyers.

And that says a lot about how rooted that country is.

Yep, the Orange person will no doubt galvanize his angry supporters into possible uprising/violence. And he'll love it.

I reckon he really does believe that he did nothing wrong and has probably never done anything wrong in his life … and Hannibal Lecter will back him up.

What a strange democracy that prevents convicted felons from voting but allows them to be the president!  I guess that the archaic constitution retains the 18th century focus on limiting suffrage to “decent” citizens.

Yep, the issue of civil war is very real.
Wonder which bad guys are going to take advantage of the US being distracted to jump the fence?
