Trumpled (Alternative Leading)
It's not going to end well, the cost to the USA will be high, socially and economically.

I've always thought Trump is the type who is prepared to burn down his own house rather than admit wrong doing, and that opinion is only stronger now.

No matter what you think of the US Political and Judicial process, it can't be denied that Trump is fundamentally a horrible horrible human.

No matter what his supporters think, Trump will never be found in the front row of the protest, he'll be hiding safely in the back row at a distance, throwing stones and collecting as many of his own supporters as he does opponents.

I can’t really get a handle on Aurangzeb’s religious beliefs.  He lets the holy rollers lay their hands on him while flogging dodgy bibles in an effort to make some much needed cash.

Many of his supporters are convinced that he will lead a  Christian revival and expel the unbelievers from positions of power if not the country.  I watched an interview with several MAGA supporters who were gobsmacked and/or disbelieving when told that his children follow the Jewish religion ?

Donald's religion is the dollar in his pocket, whether it be his or yours, he is not fussy.

Trump's only ideology is Trump. But focusing on him is part of the spectacle, to divert your attention away from the real problems and the real power brokers. The Republicans have moved so far to the right (with Democrats closely in tow) that they have become insane. They have become so extremist that IMO, they can't actually govern : protect business, protect their version of Christianity (the most un Christian variant) and support a strong, ridiculously over resourced military.

It tells you something that the polices of Nixon and Carter, neither of whom were in any way progressive, were closer to the policies of the American Greens than they are to their own respective parties.

It's pretty understandable that amongst UFC fans Donald would be quite popular. Big Grin

Would he get the same reception at the "Orchid festival in the New York Botanical Gardens." ;D

Know your audience. Wink

As it should be. Wink

A UFC crowd is hardly representative of the general population.
He'd get the same reception at an NRA convention.

At a more general event like a football game he'd still get a few cheers but lots of boos as well.

All of our political party leaders - Albo, Dutton, Littleproud, Bandt, Hanson, Palmer, etc - would be booed, but the Governor-General wouldn't be ... well maybe just a little bit.

The cult of POTUS is very strong in the US and any former POTUS would be welcomed generously at most events.  It's the office they once held that is respected, but not necessarily the person.  The same is not the case for present and former House of Representatives and Senate majority leaders.  Of course, if a former POTUS says something unpopular or inappropriate, they will be booed, as happened at the Libertarian convention.
