This Saturday the Baby Blues are playing the Meat Pies. The game is at Preston, starting at 1400.

At this point, Lobbe will be in and probably Lang.

Our list - what we have and what we need
Posted by: SPORNTON - 04-04-2018, 02:54 AM - Forum: Robert Heatley Stand - Replies (80)

Below is an outline of what our best 26 should look like from next year going forward (hence Simpson being omitted as he is likely to retire).  I included only players I deemed rightfully belonged in our journey as a high performing team chasing flag no.17.  Yes, some positions are held by those with merely potential, but they are promising prospects.  The blanks represent spots that I don't think anyone on our list is fit to fill.  That's why players I've included in our emergencies are just that - good quality depth players but not a walk up into our best 22.

The good news - we only have 3 blanks.  I expected us to have a lot more.

The bad news - we still have 3 blanks, and one is crucial - another big bodied midfielder is required.  And as is the case with the remaining 2 blanks, I believe this spot needs to be filled by a 21-24 year old to support our relatively young 23 remaining players listed.  That means trading and doing what we haven't been able to do for a long time - prying a player out of a club that they aren't happy to see go.  Fringe players won't cut it.  Gaff is an example of one such player - we need to throw everything at him.

We have lots of defenders ;D
Some think too many Wink
Do we have a spot for this guy.
He is dependable and before he was injured was playing some career best football.

  The Rebuild- Which team wins?
Posted by: Lods - 04-01-2018, 06:56 AM - Forum: Robert Heatley Stand - Replies (20)

How's the rebuild going....Round 2 teams 2015 v 2018
(Kreuzer obviously injured in 2015 and a late out in this weeks side)
Docherty a big out this year...but not as influential in 2015

Who would win?

B: 17. Sam Rowe, 40. Michael Jamison, 15. Sam Docherty
HB: 33. Andrejs Everitt, 13. Chris Yarran, 42. Zach Tuohy
C: 35. Ed Curnow, 44. Andrew Carrazzo, 6. Kade Simpson
HF: 4. Bryce Gibbs, 2. Troy Menzel, 28. Tom Bell
F: 14. Liam Jones, 23. Lachie Henderson, 3. Marc Murphy ©
Foll: 36. Cameron Wood, 43. Simon White, 5. Chris Judd
Interchange: 41. Levi Casboult, 9. Patrick Cripps, 22. Jason Tutt, 25. Clem Smith

Versus

B: Lachie Plowman, Liam Jones, Jacob Weitering
HB: Cameron O'Shea, Caleb Marchbank, Ciaran Byrne
C: Aaron Mullett, Patrick Cripps, Kade Simpson
HF: Zac Fisher, Levi Casboult, Dale Thomas
F: Jarrod Garlett, Charlie Curnow, Sam Petrevski-Seton
R: Matthew Kreuzer, Ed Curnow, Marc Murphy
Int: Paddy Dow, David Cuningham, Matthew Wright, Jed Lamb

The more important question with the obvious answer is which is the team for the future?
But just at the moment...?

2018 Rd 2: Post Game Prattle: Carlton vs Gold Coast

Last week's party was a wake, even though we did show some decent signs.
I hate that. Richmond lost last night because Adelaide were that bit more mature and could respond better when challenged. That is what I want us to be: able to respond when challenged.

Richmond is also know for their fanatic pressure. That is another thing I want us to be known for.

So this week, the winner is ...

I  am hoping for something more like what we produced in Qld last year, rather than what we produced at Docklands.

2018 Jim Park Voting: Rd 2: Carlton vs Gold Coast
Posted by: crashlander - 03-29-2018, 11:52 PM - Forum: Robert Heatley Stand - Replies (41)

I guess it has the fact that we have disappointed for so long that makes me fill with trepidation. However, I will be there. There will be people who deserve votes.

OK, guys. I'm all ready for tomorrow. Right down to the Angst flowing through my body. Car'n the Blues!

Remember:
[1] At least 3 players need to get a mention.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player.
[3] Give a rating of team performance. It can be anywhere from A+ to F.
[4] Votes must add up to 15.

2018 VFL Practice Match: Northern Blues vs Port Melbourne

This game was set for 1100 at Port on Saturday, but is now being played at Cragieburn.  :o
Apparently they are worried about the surface at Port.  >Big Grin I've always considered North Port Oval to be a hole: a mud hole.  >Big Grin

The team has yet to be published, but should be stronger than last week.
