Jim Park Voting 2020 AFL Rd 4: Carlton vs the Drug Cheats
#1
This Saturday night we play on the MCG
Remember:
[1] 15 votes in total
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player (even Cripps)
[3] Three players at least must get a mention.
[4] A grade for the game, A+ (what I want to see) to F-.

We were not on free to air, which I find incredible. But at least I saw the game on Kayo. We are really dudded when it comes to TV. Just as I said last week!

Team: A
Beating the Drug Cheats in those circumstances. We should have won by 5 goals!

Votes:
[2.5] David Cuningham:
[2.5] Sam Docherty
[1.5] Michael Gibbons
[1.5] Sam Walsh
[1] Ed Curnow
[1] Levi Casboult:
[1] Jacob Weitering:
[1] Liam Jones:
[0.5] Patrick Cripps:
[0.5] Marc Pittonet
[0.5] Tom Williamson
[0.5] Kade Simpson
[0.5] Lachie Plowman
[0.5] Mitch McGovern:

Explanations:
[2.5] David Cuningham: 30 possessions according to Ch7. Brilliant.
[2.5] Sam Docherty: Best game back. 30+ possessions and keeping his man down.
[1.5] Michael Gibbons: A couple of mistakes and 2 poor kicks at goal was about all the Gibbo did wrong. A great performance.
[1.5] Sam Walsh: Sam’s best game for the year, Great one on one work and very few errors.
[1] Ed Curnow: Kept his opponent quiet and got the ball himself. Good effort.
[1] Levi Casboult: Marking brilliantly and rucking well.
[1] Jacob Weitering: Totally destroyed the Essendon forwards.
[1] Liam Jones: A great job on the right, even with not much ball.
[0.5] Patrick Cripps: Relatively well held and still had 20 possessions in s short game.  A good Captain’s effort.
[0.5] Marc Pittonet: Not as dominant as he was last week, but didn’t let his opponents get on top. A couple of really nice contested grabs.
[0.5] Tom Williamson: Best game yet. Held his man down and got the ball himself. Really important.
[0.5] Kade Simpson: Probably Simmo’s best game for the year.
[0.5] Lachie Plowman: A poor couple of minutes and gave away a goal, but was excellent otherwise. Probably his best game this year.
[0.5] Mitch McGovern: So near, yet so far. Couldn’t get enough ball, but he was a huge danger all night.

Honourable Mentions:
Will Setterfield: Not yet doing enough, but he had a semi-negative job and he did it well. I still want to see him want it more, but he is on the improve.
Jack Newnes: Not a great game, but he made few errors and did some good things at the right moment. Maybe he will be useful.
Sam Philp: There were some very nice signs from this guy. He ran and tackled hard and got to the right places. He has a long way to go, but he looks promising.

Team B- We were at least a 5 goal better side than this rabble but only managed to scrape in by luck and a well timed falcon.

3 Docherty - Last week I said he was about to cut loose and he produced that yesterday. Cool professional in AA form.
2 Cuningham - Really nice work. Gee I hope it's not a once off because this bloke has skills.
1 Casboult - On a roll. If he can keep this up his next contract will be assured.
1 Gibbons - Solid enough effort but still makes fundamental errors which is the reason why he's a foot soldier and not a captain.
1 Walsh - Best game by him this year. Hopefully there's more to come.
1 Pittonet - Battles hard all game and super consistent would only be behind Doc and Weiters in the B&F
1 Weitering - Hasn't put a foot wrong in 4 games.
1 Curnow - Claims another scalp in Shiel
1 McGovern - Still goes quiet for long periods but he was better yesterday.
1 Williamson - This kid is tough. Can kick well and has a bit on mongrel. I hope he stays fit.
1 Jones - Very solid player. Still nervous when he's in the area but rather have him there than not.
1 Cripps - Even his average game is still better than most

Latter two didn't play 4 quarters but were influential at critical moments.
