2018 Rd 18: In Game Anxiety: Carlton vs Gold Coast
#31
Cripps is some sort of a footballer. Love watching him play.

Don't get too carried away, mate. This is Carlton you are talking about! Smile

Patrick Cripps 21 possessions! 4 marks and 4 tackles!

Marc Murphy: 19 possessions! 4 marks,3 tackles and more metres gained than anyone else on the ground.

Compared with:
Cam Polson: 1 possession
Sam Rowe: 2 possessions and 5 hitouts
Jarrod Pickett: 1 possession and 2 tackles
Harry McKay: 3 possessions
Jed Lamb: 5 possessions

You get my drift. We really need a lift from those who haven't had an impact so far, and there are plenty of them.

Ciaran Byrne provides another dimension for us off half back, speed and setting up down field...we’ve missed this style of play all year, Daisy doesn’t give us this drive ever...I like Byrne, looking forward to Doc and Tom Williamson back next year giving us this sort of drive, gives the forwards so much more chance!

This is a terrible game but they're the only ones we're a chance to win, so you never know.
We'd be more likely if our small forwards could get a kick.
Ciaran Byrne, welcome back mate.
The only thing in this world worth more than a hill of beans is the Carlton Football Club.

To be fair to McKay, Pickett and even Polson the ball movement and delivery into 50m hasn't exactly been allowing to them having high possession games.

Good to see we went more man on man in the 2nd qtr, looked much better and should be in front at half time.

Need more from Lang and Kennedy.

Good to see the kids show something.

Liked Marchbank's game. Weitering settling back into what is expected.

Murph and Cripps have been rippers.

No injuries!!!!! Now to keep it up in the 2nd half. In with a chance.
Only our ruthless best, from Board to bootstudders will get us no. 17

Sounds like the conditions are very slippery which may be impacting skills execution so I won't go on about that. I thought we tightened up our defence in that second quarter, improved our contested possessions and began to control the midfield, although I think we still trail the clearances. Our problem atm is F50 entries which are not great and we can't capitalise on our dominance here. Hope it doesn't turn out to cost us the win!
Reality always wins in the end.

We look the better side at the moment.
We're handling the conditions slightly better than they are...cant remember seeing so much dropped ball.
