Phil Gibbs, who anchored Channel O's coverage of the VFA back in the golden era TV/radio footy coverage, has passed away just short of his 88th birthday.
RIP.

So sad to hear of Phil's passing. :-[ :-[ :-[ I think that I am right in saying that Phil was involved in the nights Carlton held at the Melbourne Town Hall where the players performed various short acts. Great nights but I was only about 7 or 8 so my memory may be a little challenged. Phil was either the compere or joint compere - I was more interested in the players.
