Very sad to see another VFA club go down the gurgler.
The AFL should really set a firm agenda for the VFL. Is it a de facto reserves competition, a genuine State league competition or a hybrid with no clear direction or purpose?

Frankston have been appallingly run for a long, long period of time... for an area that has a really vibrant local football scene, they have never really been the destination for local talent... kids tend to end up playing at their local club. Put it another way, i grew up in Frankston but would rather watch my local club than the VFA/VFL team. And that is typical.
Having said that it is hard to believe that it has come to this... very sad.

I think there is more to this than meets the eye.
There may be strings being pulled behind the scenes for another powerful Mornington Peninsula footy club to take over the license, apparently one of the clubs down there is the richest suburban sports club in the country. It's also heavily connected to the AFL through past players, coaches and player managers.

There is only really two that it could possibly be, but we'll have to wait and see if the rumors are true or bogus.
