Now if you'reĀ one of our youngsters watching how he played and the effort he gave and the very genuine respect he received from some of the senior players after the game...what have you learned?
You've learned performance and effort will get you a call-up no matter what stage of your career you're at and you've learned that if you work hard and stick to your task you'll earn respect.
Watching Silvagni yesterday was a probably a much more valuable learning experience for some of them than being thrashed by Port Adelaide the week before.
It's why that balance of senior and younger players is important...as long as you have the right type of senior player.
