Bit relieved not to take my two little ones at the last minute. Dragging a 4 and 5 year old through a crush would have been a bad way to spend friday.
The standard was pretty mixed and with the nerves and high intensity early, the skills dropped away. A good spectacle, and who can argue with carlton flogging collingwood at PP?
Look forward to the comp just settling down and developing well with a bit less media hot air.
Carlton appeared better coached, with an emphasis on getting back in defence and maintaining shape across half back. Credit to the team to maintain discipline and work hard for each other as it allowed them to make better use of the forwards.
Often preferred 16 a side in footy. It encourages the best aspects of our game and lessens the congestion.
