From the coach: Blaine provided some really important offensive run and played a variety of roles. He had some really pleasing contests at different times but there were also some areas where he needs to improve, which he continues to work on.
Translation....Picks and chooses when he goes for the footy and isnt hard enough often enough... and can't hit a target to save himself.
48. Kristian Jaksch
Stats: 16 disposals, 4 marks
From the coach: He was down on what we’ve come to expect, where he misread the ball in flight and had a couple of poor aerial contests. He wasn’t able to reset on the day.
Translation: Didnt put the body on the line in the marking duels and pulled out of marking contests....I couldnt get him to play in front and take a hit for the team.his heart isnt in it.. Actually failed to get to many marking contests and his stats flatter him because he padded them by playing on when taking the kick-in after a behind was scored.
65. Dillon Viojo-Rainbow
Stats: 10 disposals, 4 marks, 3 inside 50s
From the coach: Dillon played as an inside midfielder and positioned himself well, but wasn’t quite able to impact the game by way of winning the ball. He showed some really good offensive running patterns at different stages forward of the ball.
Translation: Looks good when he gets it but doesnt win enough footy, worked hard running forward.....forget to say he did nothing the other way... Didn't work that hard running forward.
38. Bill Gowers
Stats: 12 disposals, 6 marks
From the coach: He provided some run and dash off half back and generally used it well. He needs to be diligent in staying engaged in his role as a defender when the ball is out of area.
Got the tools to be a good player but has been watching too much of Zac Touhy and thinks he doesnt need to mind a man.... Only goes hard at it and lacks different speed settings - Tom Bell tendencies.
