Rd 16: Carlton vs Adelaide
This was one of our most disappointing performances for the year in which we failed because we didn't believe we could win and we butchered the ball more than at any other time. 11 turnover goals against us said it all. Considering that they kicked 16 for the match.....
The ordinary crowd, where our supporters were outnumbered by Adelaide fans, was another very negative factor.
As a result, we had very few voters this week: less than half of what we had 6 weeks ago. It was, in fact, just as many as we had last year, during one of the most disappointing periods in our history.
The rating was correspondingly poor, 6.05. That is an E.
Votes:
Armfield, Dennis 252
Docherty, Sam 204
Simpson, Kade 146
Rowe, Sam 104
Gibbs, Bryce 92
Tuohy, Zach 61
Cripps, Patrick 46
Plowman, Lachlan 12
Kerridge, Sam 10
White, Simon 7
Curnow, Edward 5
Sumner, Liam 5
Weitering, Jacob 2
That said, 13 players managed to attract votes. This is a positive trend and has been so all year. It does suggest that Bolton is making a difference: instead of each round being dominated by one or 2 players, we have serious contributions from a significant portion of the team.
Armfield's 4 excellent goals gained him the top spot this week. However, all of our defenders got a mention.
