Rd 6: Post Game Passion: Carlton vs. Essendon

Byrnes' 1st quarter was outstanding

Gibbs' & Murph's last quarters were oustanding. That's now 3 excellent Murphy performances this year for 2 wins & 1 near miss.

Daisy's game was outstanding.......he's now been our best player in 2 of the 5 games he's played this year & kicked 3 goals in another......maybe, just maybe we're now seeing the player we hoped we were getting when Mick tapped him on the shoulder.

Kreuzer's kicking for goal is every bit as bad as Casboult's.

Credit where credit's due, Sam Rowe, despite the occasional coach-killing error, is actually having a reasonable season.

I like Plowman & Liam Sumner is fast growing on me.....

And finally.....it was the worst standard game in every aspect (as in both teams) I've ever attended.

As I read at the end of an article on the game last night: Let us never speak of this game again.....

Really? I know he missed a 40-45m set shot in horrible conditions, but Casboult missed everything from a similar distance and angle! Kreuzer might get the ball off-line left or right, but Casboult misses at right angles! I'd put Kreuzer and Jones in a similar accuracy and Casboult a level or two below that.

Having said that, I heard again from a mate Casboult hardly missed in the warm up, and commentators repeated that he seems to kick them at training and during the warm up so what is going on in his head!

What's going on with Kerridge, he came to us as goal kicker but doesn't seem to want to get hold of a shot at the moment?

Luckily Wright and Murphy are reliable, I think we need to generate a few more goals through blokes like them, Sumner and Lamb.

Wasn't that impressed with Lamb yesterday, on TV it looked like he failed to compete a couple of times, unforgivable but I'll reserve judgment until I can read an eyewitness report. At AFL level competing is not optional, the minute opposition see you hesitate to compete you are cooked, they will construct that scenario around you time after time. But then again, Betts was like this for the first few years of his career, and look at him now!
"Ruck, ruck, ruck, ruck ....... Ruck, ruck, ruck, ruck"
