AFL Rd 18: Carlton vs Port Adelaide
11th vs 2nd and 11th kicks butt! One of the great wins of recent years. Port may not have treated us as seriously as we treated them, but more fool them!
Team: A+
Votes:
The problem with performances like this is that to allow everyone who deserves a mention to get one, the votes get a bit watered down. Such is life. I much prefer it when we have a large number of good contributors.
[2.5] Patrick Cripps:
[2] Nic Newman:
[2] Jack Silvagni:
[1.5] Blake Acres:
[1.5] Tom de Koning:

[1] Jesse Motlop:
[1] Mitch McGovern:
[1] Charlie Curnow:
[0.5] Jacob Weitering:
[0.5] Adam Cerra:
[0.5] Matthew Cottrell:
Explanations:
[2.5] Patrick Cripps: If only Cripps could kick! 1 goal 3 and it should have been 4 goals! 10 clearances and 7 tackles.
[2] Nic Newman: Continued a stellar season with a brilliant game in defence. 9 score involvements from a BP! 9 tackles, a goal and 23 possessions was a dominant game.
[2] Jack Silvagni: Deserves about 5 votes. 4 goals and a strong showing as 2nd ruck, he took Port by surprise and took his chances.
[1.5] Blake Acres: Possibly his best game for us. His marking was excellent. Pity about his kicking.
[1.5] Tom de Koning: An excellent effort in the ruck and around the ground.
[1] Sam Docherty: Another 4 quarter effort from Doc.
[1] Jesse Motlop: Probably his best game to date, he made the most of his opportunities and kicked some rippers.
[1] Mitch McGovern: A great game in defence, providing huge run and great aerial work.
[1] Charlie Curnow: Charlie started dominantly. When H went off, Port managed to keep Charlie quiet for a while, but in the 3rd quarter Charlie broke out. 15 disposals, 11 marks and 12 score involvements. Pity his kicking wasn’t on.
[0.5] Jacob Weitering: Dominant early.
[0.5] Adam Cerra: Quieter than he has been, he still managed to make some excellent contributions.
[0.5] Matthew Cottrell: Another solid effort.
Honourable Mentions:
Adam Saad: Just keeps producing. Dominated his position.
Alex Cincotta: Another really solid effort in defence.
Jack Martin: Not enough possessions, but what he did was excellent.
David Cuningham: Providing class and drive, his disposal was excellent.
George Hewett: Not back to his best, but solid.
Paddy Dow: 15 possessions and some really strong efforts.
