AFLW 2022b - R7 vs Saints - Friday night

I thought the team showed good flexibility, not sure why it took so long to try some of this stuff, maybe that's a learning curve for the coach.

After a shaky team 1st-Qtr I thought Moody settled and showed she is a class above for the remainder of the game.

I thought Hill and McKay got plenty of footy without being overtly dominant as they have been in past weeks, perhaps I'm just getting accustomed to them mopping up the footy. I think that can be a very good sign, McKay must be right up there now in the B&F. I'm still not convinced too much handball is a good thing for the girls, but if that helped them hit targets then I won't complain because we've not been good by foot in recent weeks.

Personally, I think the first AFLW coach that gets the girls playing more of a Gaelic style overlap run and gun game will be on a winner.

Hill and McKay featured prominently in the coaches' votes, behind Breann Moody.  You're probably right about us becoming accustomed to them getting lots of the footy.

Elise O'Dea copped a week for striking Hannah Priest.  I didn't notice it but suspect it was when there was a free kick reversal in the first quarter.  We'll miss O'Dea's grunt work around the ground.
“Why don’t you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don’t you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don’t you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?”  Oddball
