One must be realistic about a nascent competition. I'm not sure they can develop for 20 years under cover of darkness, away from the public gaze. Hopefully the AFL will listen closely to the girls and take on any suggestions for improving the game. The AFLW in its current configuration looks like a token comp. The AFL need to get serious and invest heavily by throwing serious money at it and funding fully until the clubs can stand alone properly through sponsorship. Proper seasons along side the AFL mens, proper wages so players can be full time professionals, proper coaching and facility set ups for all teams, proper academies for the young girls coming through. The standard of football is representative of the administration and funding, improve that and watch how fast the game grows (standard and audience). At the moment, it seems half assed to me, get serious AFL.
