The Opals started the competition poorly, no doubt unsettled by Cambage's absence, but they seem to have found form at the sharp end of the tournament.
They had to beat Puerto Rico by at least 25 points to make the play offs and they won 96-69. Puerto Rico weren't really in the contest in the second half but their objective was to lose by less than 25 points and keep the Opals out of the finals - a very strange way to go :
If the Opals can maintain the form they showed in the second half, they could progress to the medal rounds.
