Post Game Pandemonium!: AFL 2020 Rd 8: Carlton vs North
Learning how to win is the most important thing we can do now. As I keep saying winners win because they win, losers lose because they lose. I think we had a massive opportunity to really bury North yesterday but we didn't know how to do it. If we kicked 5.1 in the third quarter instead of 1.5, the story would have been so much different. I thought we dominated in general play for about three and a quarter  quarters, and North had a good run in the second and got a bit lucky at the end of the third. I thought the umpires were very adept at finding the right free at the right time for North. We have a chance next week to get a head of the count next week and I think 9 wins will be enough to play finals, and if we can be 6 & 5 coming out of Perth, then we have a chance to make the finals on our own merit since 2011.
A few observations. It's taken about 8 months for Jack Martin to learn the Carlton way when kicking for goals. David Cuningham is not far off from being a very good footballer. I was so pleased he went for that goal in the last quarter after just falling short the week before. I thought studs up was a free kick. While Moore gave a good contest throughout the match, I think it might be TDK time.
