We were finishing with momentum.
Half way through the last I was confident we'd actually win and even at the death we could have done so with a kick off the ground.
How it's commentated on and reported is different too.
v Gold Coast-"They've forgotten how to win"
v Melbourne- "They're never out of the game."
With you here Lods. OK our first 3Qs left a lot to be desired but, imo, due to issues that can be fixed such as poor skill execution and clangers. Melbourne too seemed to me to be a lot more physically developed than us and we were very much out-muscled in the first three quarters. Our mids especially looked very small in comparison to theirs but in fact the clearances were marginally our way. However to come back in that last qrtr was very heartening and showed a fighting spirit which I was very pleased to see -there seems to be a belief there. So, disappointing to lose yes but something to take heart from.
Reality always wins in the end.
