I feel for the Dogs: they paid a lot for this guy and have been left holding the back. I guess they are lucky that the mid-season draft is there to be able to get another player. However, what does that do to their salary cap?

If you were to guarantee to the Bullies that, in the life of the Boyd contract, they’d win a premiership, they’d take it every day of the week. If you also said that he’d be a significant player in the game, you’d be doubly satisfied. It also releases a bucket load of cash that can be used elsewhere.

I don’t feel for the Dogs, they’ve done ok.
