The kick to Wright wasn't a bad option.
Kicked it to his advantage. If Wright was able to protect the direction of the ball, he'd be able to turn around, beat his opponent back to the ball and into an open goal.
Unfortunately he couldn't keep his opponent off the line of the ball well enough.
