Was Steve Smith Caught Behind?
#3
Not out was Smith, ball hit the turf...the half volley/fingers under the ball ? is a regular problem IMO, you see a lot of catches which are sus and where players claim dodgy catches and because the umpires on the ground give them out its hard to reverse when it goes to the 3rd umpire and he isnt sure either.
The old benefit of doubt goes to the batsman is over...beats me too how the ball tracking system can determine ball bounce height, does that get adjusted as an innings progresses and wickets get slower/lower or when the new ball gets taken and the ball is harder, or is there any allowance for when a Joel Garner size player is operating and the ball would have to be very full to actually hit the wicket because anything he or his type bowled short of a length would clear the stumps most of the time.
Can you factor in common sense anywhere?
