2017 Jim Park Voting: Carlton vs Richmond
#9
I just read that some of the scribes gave Dustin Martin BOG today. I wonder if they were at the game? I would have said not.

Team: D+
We lost by less than 5 goals to a team that considers itself a serious final’s candidate. I wonder if they are serious? But they did want it more than we did, which hurt a lot. We were so down compared to the last few weeks, but we didn’t give it up and, had Pickett done the right thing, we would have been less than 1 goal down. That incident killed us and it may well cost Pickett for some time to come.

Votes:
[3] Kreuzer
[3] Cripps
[3] Docherty
[1.5] Gibbs
[1] Jones
[1] Murphy
[1] Weitering
[0.5] Graham
[0.5] Thomas
[0.5] Charlie Curnow

Explanations:
[3] Kreuzer: Excellent in the ruck. Killed a good ruckman in Nankervis.
[3] Cripps: 10 clearances, some great marks, 1 goal and huge numbers of tackles. Cripps really put in.
[3] Docherty: Didn’t look 100%, but still did a fine job.
[1.5] Gibbs: Not quite as dominant as last week, but managed 30 possessions.
[1] Jones: Did a fine job in defence, but is still very much learning to be a senior defender.
[1] Murphy: Not as his best today, but he did run hard and work hard.
[1] Weitering: Like Jones, did everything that was asked of him.
[0.5] Graham: Did some very good things, but he isn’t a marking target.
[0.5] Thomas: Worked hard and went generally unrewarded for his efforts.
[0.5] Charlie Curnow: His marking was excellent.

Honourable Mentions:
Casboult: Could have been brilliant, as Richmond couldn’t contain him. But he just couldn’t get enough ball.
Wright: Worked hard
Ed Curnow: Did a good job until forced off the ground.
Live Long and Prosper!
