Team: A
We beat a potential GF winner today, as GWS will be there at the end of the year. We showed guts and commitment, even if we do still offer too many opportunities to our foes.
Votes:
[3] Matthew Kreuzer
[2] Marc Murphy
[1.5] Sam Docherty
[1.5] Liam Jones
[1.5] Bryce Gibbs
[1] Caleb Marchbank
[1] Kade Simpson
[0.5] Matthew Wright
[0.5] Lachie Plowman
[0.5] Dale Thomas
[0.5] Jacob Weitering
[0.5] Levi Casboult
[0.5] Ed Curnow
[0.5] David Cuningham
Explanations:
[3] Matthew Kreuzer: A great game for his 150th, He did well enough in the ruck and got heaps of the ball around the ground.
[2] Marc Murphy: Considering how things were working in the centre square for much of the day, Murphy played an excellent game.
[1.5] Sam Docherty: A few turnovers, but a great game.
[1.5] Liam Jones: His game was excellent. He took Patton on and beat him well.
[1.5] Bryce Gibbs: After half time Gibbs lifted and got serious leather poisoning.
[1] Caleb Marchbank: Showed his former team mates what they are missing out on.
[1] Kade Simpson: He really lifted when it was necessary and showed some of the aerial skill we haven’t seen for quite a while.
[0.5] Matthew Wright: Solid and workmanlike, but the goals really counted in a low scoring game.
[0.5] Lachie Plowman: Took some great marks and helped build a barrier GWS struggled to get through.
[0.5] Dale Thomas: Daisy deserves a mention with his smarts and leadership. He did some excellent things.
[0.5] Jacob Weitering: Very solid in defence against a top opponent.
[0.5] Levi Casboult: Marking was solid: he provided a great target. Kicking not quite what we wanted.
[0.5] Ed Curnow: His goal almost deserves a mention in itself. But it was his efforts to disrupt the flow of GWS’s ball movement that made me give him a mention.
[0.5] David Cuningham: Cuningham appeared to tire somewhat, but his goals were brilliant and his pace stood out.
Honourable Mentions:
Patrick Cripps: Always under pressure, but Cripps managed to do some wonderful things.
Tom Williamson: This lad has a future and he did some really nice things.
