The only thing in this world worth more than a hill of beans is the Carlton Football Club.

I didn’t find it easy to rank last night’s game. In the first quarter we weren’t bad, until about 2 minutes before the end of the quarter. From then until the start of the 3rd quarter we were as ordinary as any time under Malthouse. Worth a ‘G’ if we were lucky.
Then, after half time, we were much better and deserved to be much closer. MUCH better.
So, in the end, I went with a ‘D’. After all, we did lose.

Votes:
[3] Sam Docherty:
[2.5] Patrick Cripps
[2] Kade Simpson
[1.5] Lachie Plowman
[1.5] Jacob Weitering
[1] Sam Kerridge
[1] Ed Curnow
[1] Sam Rowe
[0.5] Andrew Phillips
[0.5] Charlie Curnow
[0.5] Liam Sumner

Explanations:
[3] Sam Docherty: Docherty played his 4th good game for this year. He took 10 marks and provided a huge amount of drive.
[2.5] Patrick Cripps: Cripps was woeful early, having few possessions up to half time. But after half time we saw the real Patrick Cripps: tackles, kicks, handballs, strong marks, good decision making, centre clearances and more.
[2] Kade Simpson: Solid all night.
[1.5] Lachie Plowman: Took Stringer to the cleaners. Ran out of puff a bit, but showed a lot in defence.
[1.5] Jacob Weitering: Another solid game across half back this week.
[1] Sam Kerridge: Like Cripps, Kerridge was awful early, but he really came good after half time and was an excellent contributor.
[1] Ed Curnow: Had a role and did it very well.
[1] Sam Rowe: Easily defeated Tom Boyd. Pity he still drops marks after having done such good body work.
[0.5] Andrew Phillips: Very promising in the ruck and reasonable around the ground.
[0.5] Charlie Curnow : Not yet, but showing more than a little promise.
[0.5] Liam Sumner: Lots of aggression and some good signs.

Honourable Mentions:
Jed Lamb: Not enough yet, but some nice signs
Matthew Wright: A fair bit of the ball this week, but he wasn’t as effective as he has been.
Ciaran Byrne: A couple of terrible mistakes, but continues to suggest that he will be a player.

Try not to look at the stats or others votes before I post but I seem to have Kerridge higher than anyone else. Maybe way off on that one but I liked his eendeavour all night.
