I've seen the video. The crowd loved it. Politicians should keep their fingers out of pies that have nothing to do with them.

I think the tour might have been cancelled more because Jack and Kyle have had a bit of a falling out.

It seems many think satire is a pathway to derision and that then can become vitriolic, but it depends on the participants and how they deal with it.

It looks like in the Tenacious-D case, the fallout is primarily between Jack and Kyle, not so much external commentary.

I would have thought Jack might have been able to take the steam out of this issue many ways, he has a sharp wit, but perhaps his action is a sign of other underlying tensions.

Yes, i've read that.

I don't buy it.

This is a bit of a running gag between the band. They literally have a song called "Kyle quit the band" and there are many others were they 'break up' and its all a ruse.

In this instance, i think its Jack distancing himself from the issue and letting his friend take all the heat.
I can't see 30 years of collaboration falling apart long term because of this.
They have had multiple albums. Had their own TV show. Their own movie. Done countless cameos in movies and tv shows throughout their time as well.
They've had more harsh and more divisive jokes than that over the journey.

Had it not got the coverage it had in the media,  nothing would've come of it.

I'd be VERY surprised if a year from now, its like this never happened.

I've changed my mind about Trump being assured of victory.

It has a bit of a feel like a team getting out to an eight goal lead in the first quarter, getting a bit 'cocky' and then being slowly over-run.
There's a long way to go.
This is Trump's high point.
