VFL Rd 15 2023 Carlton vs Northern Bullants at Carlton
#1
Interesting to see who plays this weekend. Marchbank and Sam Durdin are supposedly playing, meaning our defence should be a bit stronger. No Fisher - he has a hamstring injury.  >Big Grin
O'Keefe will be the lone ruck, probably helped by Lemmey.

Preston have not been playing that well, but they do try harder against us than anyone else.

C: J. Binns (32), G. Hewett (29), L. O'Brien (4)

F: L. McMahon (52), B. Crocker (57), H. Lemmey (31)
R: H. O'Keeffe (40), P. Dow (2), J. Carroll (16)
INT: D. Porter (72)*, H. Ramshaw (51), P. Dozzi (53), T. Leiu (55), N. Cahill (54)
EMG: H. Gill (62), L. Prout (74), M. Lewis (58), J. Lefroy (79), B. Kuipers (60), D. Hogg (59)

IN: P. Dow, S. Durdin, T. Leiu, C. Marchbank, L. Plowman, D. Porter, B. Ronke
OUT: J. Silvagni (AFL), D. Akuei (concussion), Z. Fisher (injured), H. Gill, B. Kuipers, L. Prout, H.

I presume that No 59 is Darcy Hogg, son of Matthew. I'd say he has a decent chance of playing.

With the Substitute still uncertain (hopefully Dow after his form), there will be 2 players to come out, as we always play a 'travelling emergency'. Therefor 2 of the emergencies will be certain to play.
15 named Blues will be 13 at most.

I am happy to see Ronke back, as he is reliable goalkicker.

Wow! Look how many tried ex-senior players are in this team.

Any of them pushing for senior selection (or career survival)?

Out to a 7 goal lead now.
Motlop is spending a bit of time in the middle.
Conditions look pretty wet now.

Half time
Carlton 9-7-61 v Bullants 2-2-14
We were 9-2 but 5 points in a row in the back half of the quarter.

Disposals

Carroll 15
Binns 15
O'Brien 13
Dow 13
Motlop 12
Cowan 12

O'Brien getting a lot of the ball but similar problem as he has in the seniors, he takes so long to move it on, either stopping and propping or running an arc.

Motlop doing well, playing a bit of midfield, has 2 goals and could have had a couple more.

3 seniors emergencies not playing - Honey Hewett & Young - is one more than normal, suggesting a late out is a concern - probably Young kept over as cover for TDK, Hewett sub and Honey in case of a different late out.
