Carlton vs Adelaide:
Not the result we wanted. Worst effort for quite a long time.
Team: E-
We were butchered in the middle, and it all went downhill from there.
Votes:
[4] Nic Newman
[2] Ed Curnow
[2] Patrick Cripps
[2] Charlie Curnow
[1] Blake Acres
[1] Adam Cerra
[1] Sam Walsh
[1] Jack Silvagni
[0.5] Jacob Weitering
[0.5] Harry McKay
Explanations:
[4] Nic Newman: Our best player, he didn’t lower his colours. He provided whatever drive we managed to get.
[2] Ed Curnow: Did a job and did it well enough. Not a superior game, but he made a contribution.
[2] Patrick Cripps: This one might be a little controversial, as our Captain only managed 19 possessions. However, he managed a large slice of a clearances (9), he had 10 tackles (a large fraction of the whole teams’) and he tried his guts out. Not a great game, but considering how little some of the others went, I’m comfortable giving him votes.
[2] Charlie Curnow: Charlie looked dangerous. We simply couldn’t get it near him often enough.
[1] Blake Acres: Not a brilliant game, but solid. He was a contributor.
[1] Adam Cerra: Probably the most productive of our mids on a poor night.
[1] Sam Walsh: Did his best in the circumstances. Will be better for the run.
[1] Jack Silvagni: Did his best and managed some clearances.
[0.5] Jacob Weitering: Could have been much worse without him.
[0.5] Harry McKay: Like Charlie, H looked dangerous. Unfortunately, we didn’t give him much of an opportunity to show much.
Honourable Mentions:
Ollie Hollands: Not his best night, but he kept trying and running.
