Remember:
[1] 15 votes in total
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player (even Cripps)
[3] Three players at least must get a mention.
[4] A grade for the game, A+ (what I want to see) to F-.
I hope we can produce tonight.

Team: B+
We took on a good team in unfamiliar conditions and won comfortably. Add that it was a Friday Night, something we haven’t been able to handle for years and that we were on free-to-air TV.
The only really ordinary thing was the kicking on goal.
Votes:
This week it is hard because we didn’t have anyone who didn’t make a contribution, even Eddie Betts was good when he didn’t have the fumbles.
[2] Marc Murphy
[2] Patrick Cripps
[2] Sam Walsh
[1.5] Jacob Weitering
[1] Liam Jones
[1] Michael Gibbons
[1] Jack Martin
[1] Zac Fisher
[1] Jack Newnes
[0.5] Will Setterfield
[0.5] Ed Curnow
[0.5] Kade Simpson
[0.5] Harry McKay
[0.5] Sam Docherty
Each one is these is severely undervalued and should be multiplied by about 2 or 3, but …
Explanations:
[2] Marc Murphy: 2 votes is almost an insult to Murphy who played probably his most complete game for the year.
[2] Patrick Cripps: Another step back towards form from Cripps, whose centre clearance work was brilliant. He willed himself to contests, which I really loved.
[2] Sam Walsh: The clown in the media can say what they like, we we got a winner in Sam Walsh. His gutsy football and hard work is an example to follow.
[1.5] Jacob Weitering: Granted that the ball didn’t come into the Gold Coast forward line very well, but Jacob really had a great game and destroyed on the game’s rising stars.
[1] Liam Jones: Jones was Jones. Excellent.
[1] Michael Gibbons: Gibbo continues to show his value and his hardness.
[1] Jack Martin: Martin was excellent over the night, but for his kicking at goal. The smooth way he moved, the pace and the ball handling say it all.
[1] Zac Fisher: A very solid game from Fisher, who really got to use his pace effectively.
[1] Jack Newnes: Newnes played probably his best game for us and managed over 20 possessions. Hs hands were excellent.
[0.5] Will Setterfield: Very solid game from Setters.
[0.5] Ed Curnow: Ed was really solid: he beat his opponents and moved the ball forward well.
[0.5] Kade Simpson: Solid in defence. Another good Simmo game.
[0.5] Harry McKay: had he been able to kick straight … H was good, but he could have been so much better.
[0.5] Sam Docherty: Very solid in defence.
Honourable Mentions:
Tom de Koning: You Tom showed a fair bit in the ruck. His athleticism was also on show. Not far away from a breakout game.
Tom Williamson: Willi was pretty good today. I was pleased with his endeavour.
Levi Casboult: Uncharacteristically fumbly, but still very dangerous.
Matthew Cottrell: Not quite as good as last week. He had more than a few opportunities but fumbled them early. Better as the game went on and shows he has a future in our defensive half. Good to see him on the ball at time as well, doing his job.

Team = A (despite the inaccurate kicking for goal) because it was great to see such an even domination of an opponent and to see such effective field kicking in difficult conditions.
