Probably goes under the radar as he isnt flashy but its the reliable types you build a core group around and he is now part of that core group IMO.

As we can see with Clickbait Clarkson, there's nothing any coach can do about kids and hacks. He can barely get a yelp out of O'Maera, Mitchell, Wingard, Scully etc.
It'd be easier to admit you were simply ridiculously wrong. 10-9 under Teague, 4 from the last 43 under Bolton. Answers everything. |
Game has changed, we are alot more attacking than the confusing, defensive muck served up before.

All teams have been inconsistent, but you can be inconsistent and still look convincing, like Port. We have scored 100 points or more the last 3 games against the Dogs - it's entirely possible that we are simply their bogey team.
For some people, "we won" is enough. For those of us who take an interest in detail, nuance and subtlety, it's not nearly enough.
I was happy to fall over the line against the likes of Geelong, at Geelong, and Essendon. They were never going to lose yesterday, they were always doing enough although I'd like to see the foot on the throat when on top, not the foot off the brake. This time last year we were 1-11 (who was that under again?...lol) and embarrassing, now 4-4 and 10 from 19. We're not going to be a premiership side overnight but right now it's great improvement as we go along the journey of maturity.

I realise basic comprehension is beyond you, so I'll give you a helping hand. Look back on our recruiting history over the last 20 years and tell me what you see. Look back at our coaches over the last 20 years, their successes and failures, and tell me if you can join the dots. Come on slugger, I dare ya. See if for once in your life, you can take a broader view, and see the bigger picture.

Don't give me spin. That's all you have when you've been made to look a fool. The more you bring it up the more you look a fool. Look at the scoreboard, tells all. From that scoreboard I see 10 from 19 compared 4 from 43. I saw instant improvement. Same players, different results. If you can't see the difference in our game since Teague come along then I can only laugh in your face.
Paul, you got it wrong. no amount of spin, BS will change that.

I think he's got significant development ahead of him, assuming good health and coaching.
It's his vision, good decisions, and pinpoint execution that are impressive. I recall they worked on defensive game last year, and adapting mind to body change post injuries. He also has a steely determination in the contest. Again with the right coaching, can enable that ruthless competitiveness. Looking forward to seeing Setterfield with 50 games under his belt. Might turn out to be another SOS masterstroke!

i think we are a very LUCKY football team, cats play 6mins, ess 1more meter, roos with important players missing.I blame our game style it has been the same for years the long bomb into forward line does not work the opposition just run it out and because we are slow cant defend and into there open forward line, easy goals to other side. How many times have we seen this happen. So change game plan . How does opposition have open forward line and ours is crowded all time?Glad we won but we are LUCKY

The axe for bolton should have come a lot earlier. We learned precious little from his time at Carlton

If you stopped behaving like a cross between a 5 year old and a know-it-all, you might understand my point. Even by the standards of a footy forum, you cannot make a proper assessment of any coaching record without taking into account the bigger picture. You cannot simply look at results and magically erase the context, because it gives you yet another chance for one of your pathetic little nyah nyah nyah moments.
Bolton and Teague are not playing the same players, they are not playing under the same parameters, nor the same aims and objectives. Teague's 2019 results and 2020 results are pretty much the same, despite another pre season, despite the injection Betts, Martin, Pittonet etc.

Only 22 yo, under 30 games, lost fitness, continuity and confidence due to a knee reco. Plenty of upside here!!
