Beauty of having Eddie back is that Gibbons can permanently go into the midfield. That has to help. Gibbons said on SEN today trying to learn to play the small forward role last year was so difficult and with Eddie back is really appreciating being back in his natural role in the midfield.

Yes, that's a big win.

And let's not underestimate the effect of Jack Martin working behind the ball. He is equally good at delivering the pill inside 50 (in the style of an outside receiver) as he is winning the darn hard ball get in the guts, in serious congestion.

Would be happy to see Jack and Crippa tie for the Brownlow one year.

Finally, if Harry and/or SOJ had converted early in the 4th, things would never have got so tight.

Got a few who cant execute on their preferred either....Heath Scotland was the only Carlton player I could think of who could use both feet equally as well in recent times....gem of a pass from Eddie to Murphy.

Gibbsy was too bad on his non preferred but not Scotto level. Scotto and Sam Mitchell were in the elite category as far as the both feet skill is concerned. I noticed Matty Rowel dob one from a long way out on his non preferred, No kids these days possess that skill.

Got tired of Scotland swinging onto his left and chipping moon balls onto blokes' heads.  He could kick on his non preferred side,  but it certainly wasn't stylish or particularly effective all the time.

I'm teaching my two (5 and 7, B & G) to drop kick but it's tough as they never see it done anywhere....

Can't recall a recent game where the Blues delivered the ball so well by foot - accurate and to advantage - at least during the first 3 terms.

Not surprised we were stuffed in the final term because the players ran so hard to pressure the pussies during the first 3 term (instead on simply trying to corral them, which has been the case for so many years). The noticeable difference in team intensity in the final term enabled the pussies to deliver the ball without pressure.
