I've just noticed that the sports streaming service KAYO is now available on Telstra TV for 25 Bucks a month, which seems a much better cost option than Foxtel Now if you only want the sport. Looks like all AFL games will be available direct from Fox Sport, along with many other sports covered. Have any of you tried it yet??

Just signed up for a free 14-day trial.....after i read your post.

Obviously being only 4 days old, there are still plenty of improvements to come, like a search option, but early days are very impressive.

Has all the foxtel sports channels except the horses and specialised EPL club ones, none of which i've ever watched. You also can't do PPV stuff, again, never used it.

It is the netflix of sports.

You can do picture in picture on your laptop, so as i type this i'm currently watching Open Mike with Kenny Hunter.

You can also do multiple sports at once in a split-screen kinda arrangements. With varying displays, a quick click will switch between audio streams, so you won't miss a moment of anything.

Once you have worked out what you want to watch, there is no issues. Finding what you want to watch can be a little bit of an issue, as i said, no search.

Seems limited NFL games from what i've seen. Like, 1, at present. I'll put that down to being in its infancy.

Can't seem to stream to my TV, nor watch it via internet on the TV though. Although, it does work through HDMI, so great success.

So yeah, pretty sweet.

I'll give it a week, and if the NFL catalogue improves, i'll cancel foxtel immediately.

Thanks for your report K, boy you didn't hang around! I am going to sign up and now have the app on my Telstra tv. I also have Netflix on there so will be well covered for entertainment. I was going to get Foxtel Now purely for the footy but Kayo fits the bill much better, for me anyway.

HDMI was from my laptop.

I don't think its as well supported as netflix or stan yet, still in its infancy, but i'm sure it will be available on xbox soon enough if its not already.

The idea is brilliant, the overall layout is great, the tech support / portability is still playing catchup.

I sometimes get a bit of a lag on my tablet but rarely on Telstra tv, although there have been a couple of gluggy periods recently but I have noticed a fair bit of maintenance of cables going on in the area by Telstra contractors.

Btw, I think Fox is part owner of Kayo and I wouldn't mind betting that this is the first step in shifting sport away from Foxtel altogether to this new dedicated service. Hopefully we won't see price increases once we're all hooked.

Ta for that info....we had Foxtel but it wasnt worth it so I canned it but I do miss the sport and the new season/s of " Outlander" .
Was thinking of " Foxtel now" but Kayo has trumped that idea for the sport.....did read a few reviews and it is laggy on ADSL/ADSL2 but no probs on NBN....
